The 2025 Student Mathematics Olympic Competition at FPT University will take place on February 8th, offering a competitive platform for students passionate about mathematics.
The 2025 Student Mathematics Olympic Competition, organized by FPT University, is an opportunity for students who love mathematics to compete. It also serves as a stepping stone to select outstanding representatives for the National Student Mathematics Olympic and High School Mathematics Olympiad, which will be held from March 31st to April 5th.
The 2025 Student Mathematics Olympic Competition at FPT University will take place on February 8th across five campuses: Hanoi, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho. Students can register to participate in one or both subjects: Calculus and Algebra, with each subject’s exam lasting 150 minutes in a written, individual format.
The exam content is divided into two categories. Category A focuses on Calculus, covering advanced topics from the MAE101 course and encouraging participation from students of Class 19 and Class 20, especially those who were previously in specialized math programs. Category B is for Algebra, encompassing knowledge of Linear Algebra (MAE101) and integrating content from number theory, combinatorics, and graph theory from the MAD101 course (Discrete Mathematics).
This competition also offers valuable prizes. Each subject will have 1 First Prize worth 3 million VND, 1 Second Prize worth 2 million VND, 3 Third Prizes worth 1.5 million VND, and 5 Encouragement Prizes worth 500,000 VND. Notably, outstanding participants will be selected to represent FPT University in the National Student Mathematics Olympiad.
As of 2025, FPT University has been participating in the National Student Mathematics Olympiad for 10 years, consistently achieving impressive results. In 2024, the university’s students won 1 First Prize and 3 Third Prizes in the Algebra category, along with 5 Third Prizes in Calculus. Previously, in the 2023 National Student Mathematics Olympiad organized by the University of Hue, FPT University’s team also performed exceptionally well in both subjects. Notably, student Duong Thanh Tung (HE176669) won First Prizes in both Calculus and Algebra.
The National Student Mathematics Olympiad is an annual academic competition. In 2025, the competition will be organized by the Vietnam Mathematics Association, the Institute of Advanced Studies in Mathematics, the University of Saigon, and the University of Science – VNU Hanoi. This year’s competition for students will take place from March 31st to April 5th at the University of Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City.
