FPT University Secures a Spot in the Finals of the “Drug-Free Schools 2024” Competition

Students from FPT University Da Nang campus have excelled, becoming the sole representative of the Central region to reach the finals of the “Drug-Free Schools 2024” competition.

This is a national-scale event organized by the Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam Television, attracting participation from high school, college, and university students nationwide.

With a focus on building a healthy living environment, the “Drug-Free Schools” competition aims to raise awareness and combat drug abuse among the youth. By applying information technology to their anti-drug project, FPT University Da Nang students successfully developed an application, ranking among the top 3 outstanding projects of the competition.

This achievement demonstrates the pioneering role of FPT University students in actively leveraging technology for meaningful social activities.

Representing the Central region, the FPT University Da Nang student team not only secured the region’s only spot in the finals with their programming capabilities but also affirmed their expertise in applying information technology to community projects, along with their sense of responsibility and desire to promote healthy values within the student community.

As the regional representative, the FPT University Da Nang student team shared that they aim to participate in the competition to leverage FPT students’ technological strengths to help spread the message of healthy living and contribute to building a drug-free community.

The “Drug-Free Schools 2024” competition attracted over 200 teams from high schools, colleges, and universities nationwide, with more than 1,000 participants. After the preliminary and semi-final rounds, the top 6 teams from various regions will advance to the finals, including representatives from the North, Central – Central Highlands, and South.

The final round is expected to take place on November 8-9 in Hanoi, featuring main events such as project presentations, a knowledge quiz on drug prevention, and community persuasion skills. The winning team will receive the championship trophy along with valuable prizes and will have the opportunity to widely promote the message of healthy living among young people.
