During the recent 30/4-1/5 holiday, FPT University Hanoi students spent 5 meaningful days full of emotions, reconnecting with happiness from within themselves… at Truc Lam Chinh Phap Meditation Center, Tuyen Quang, with the mindfulness internship program “The Source of Happiness”.
The program was organized by the International Cooperation and Personal Development Department with the hope of providing students with practical experiences and the opportunity to practice mindfulness techniques.
The mindfulness internship course is an opportunity for students to enjoy days of experiencing a simple and peaceful lifestyle, learning methods to cultivate the energy of joyful mindfulness, thereby gaining more peace, tranquility, and happiness in daily life.
This is also an opportunity for students to slow down, learn to look deeply within themselves to transform their own difficulties, while reflecting on the values that exist around them, exploring cultural and spiritual values of life through different perspectives, and from there, fostering virtue and gaining a better outlook on life.
Students not only enjoyed delicious vegetarian meals with a diverse menu carefully prepared by the nuns, but also followed a new schedule, waking up early and going to bed early, living more scientifically. The experience and practice of meditation – the path to happiness – helped cultivate the energy of joyful mindfulness, practice calmness and gratitude, and reconnect with their true selves.
Students learned and absorbed many valuable insights from the Dharma talks by the monks, addressing personal issues such as controlling anger, practicing listening, communicating and connecting with others… and gained a deeper understanding of the history of the country.
Students also lived in the love and care of the monks and nuns at the Meditation Center and participated in many fun activities organized by the resident students at Truc Lam Chinh Phap Meditation Center… And there were many other valuable things and unforgettable experiences as well.
In addition, this journey of experience helped students develop self-discipline, increase endurance, and learn how to overcome their own challenges through activities such as sitting meditation, walking meditation, Dharma talks, relaxation meditation, and Dharma discussions… so that they can become stronger on the path of their studies and the career they choose.
