FPTU Student Wins Third Prize at Global IT Competition

This is the second consecutive year that the Vietnamese team has participated and achieved high rankings in the global finals of the Huawei ICT Competition.

The finals of the ICT Competition 2023 – 2024, recently held in Shenzhen, China, saw a larger number of participating students compared to previous years. The Vietnamese team, consisting of two students: Dang Phuong Khoi Nguyen (FPT University Danang) and Nguyen Dac Phuc (University of Economics and Technology for Industries), successfully passed the national and Asia-Pacific regional rounds to showcase their talents and skills, winning third prize in the Network Track at the global finals.

Sharing their feelings after receiving the award, both Dang Phuong Khoi Nguyen and Nguyen Dac Phuc stated that the competition was a valuable opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with students from around the world. It also served as a great platform for students to enhance their teamwork abilities and collaboratively create innovative technological products. Besides aiming to improve their knowledge, the two students actively used the competition to promote the image of Vietnam, its people, the youthful spirit, and the proud intellect of the Vietnamese to international friends.

Mr. Vu Kiem Van, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA), shared: “Improving the technology skills and competencies of students will contribute to the development of a high-quality ICT workforce for Vietnam. We hope that Huawei will continue to maintain and enhance the quality of the competition, providing high-quality training programs and learning materials, not only for the contestants within the framework of the competition but also for long-term cooperation programs in the future.”

The 8th Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 recorded a record number of over 170,000 students from more than 2,000 universities and colleges in 80 countries and territories. Since its inception in 2015, the Huawei ICT Competition has become an annual playground eagerly awaited by students worldwide, fostering international exchanges and learning to enhance their knowledge and practical creativity.

Within the framework of this year’s competition, Huawei also organized the ICT Liberal Education Transformation Summit to create an academic space for global scholars and education managers. At the summit, Huawei for the first time honored 24 Global Most Valuable Instructors of the Huawei ICT Academy to recognize their significant contributions to the development of a sustainable talent ecosystem.
