FPT University took the initiative in organizing ACBSP Awareness Seminar in collaboration with SaigonTech in Ho Chi Minh city on 20th March and in Hanoi with National Economics University on 21st March 2018. This second ACBSP awareness seminar as well as the first (in August 2017) have been both organized by FPT University.
This time event presenter is Dr Rajesh Khajuria, Chair-ACBSP Region 10 with the topic theme “The Power of Global Accreditation by ACBSP, USA” who has believed that Vietnam is still the most potential country for developing ACBSP network of institutions. The awareness theme series of events has proved its benefit to the attended institutions, leaders, staffs, faculty members, students and other stakeholders in most of leading business faculties in Vietnam. FPT University, as a proactive member of Region 10 will further exploit the opportunities by using its experience and resource – said by Dr Rajesh Khajuria.
Day 1: Seminar in Ho Chi Minh city co-hosting with SaigonTech
From 09.00 to 12.00 on 20th March 2018, the event was successfully organized in the present of distinguished guests such as Dr Trung (Vice Rector of SaigonTech), Dr Rajesh Khajuria (Chair-person of ACBSP Region 10 Commission), Dr Tuan (Secretary of ACBSP Region 10 Commission, Vice Rector of FPT University), delegates from University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, FPT Polytechnics and other institutes.
At this seminar, Dr Rajesh Khajuria had shared his hearted concern about the global network which can help its member institutes in continuous improvement in educational and professional service, consequently benefit its stakeholders. He also shared the history and future of ACBSP Global as well as Region 10. Dr Tuan continued the seminar by giving presentation about FPT University experience in attempting the accreditation process. He focused on clarifying and addressing the role of leadership in ACBSP perspectives. At the end of the event, FPT University, Dr Tuan, was remarked the first time publication in an ACBSP Region 10 academic Journal by Dr Rajesh Khajuria.
Day 2: Seminar in Hanoi, co-hosting with National Economics University
FPT University is proudly co-hosting with one of the national leading universities in business and economics- the National Economics University (NEU). The event attracts more than 100 delegates from 16 leading universities to attend the seminar on 21st March at NEU conference hall.
In the opening, Prof. Dr Tran Tho Dat- President of NEU made a welcome speech and emphasized that to be accredited by ACBSP would be a priority mission in his educational strategic plan.
After the welcome speech, Dr. Le My Phong, representative officer of Gerneral Department of Education Testing and Accreditation (GDETA – a department of of Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, MOET), briefing about the comtemporary context, developing trends of international and national accreditation. He also urged that the Vietnamese universities should proactively take part in international accreditation to bring up the local education to higher and wider arena, meanwhile, addressed the MOET’ willingness in considering and recognizing international accreditation organizations, especially ACBSP.
From ACBSP, Dr Rajesh Khajuria, Chair person of ACBSP Accreditation Region 10, has presentation to introduce and update information about ACBSP. He also highlight the benefits that the organization can bring to its stakeholders.
Continueing, Dr Dam Son Toai, Vice Director of Advanced Educational Program, NEU (AEP) clarified detail about ACBSP Accreditation standards.
At the second part of the seminar, Dr Tran Ngoc Tuan, Vice Rector of FPT University reviewed his institutions’ change since being a member of ACBSP, right after the meaningful sharing from Hoa Sen University delegates.
After those presentations, audiences and speakers have useful and interesting discussion, as well as networking, gift exchange.
During the pre-event, Prof Tran Tho Dat, Dr Rajesh Kharuria and Dr Tran Ngoc Tuan had short-meeting to discuss about the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which could be projectly signed in upcoming global ACBSP conference 2018 in United State of America. This MOU would facilitate Vietnamese business schools and programs to acquire the prestigious ACBSP USA’s Global Accreditation.
