In particular, some programs maintained by the iGo Club at FPT University have been ongoing for many years, such as fundraising for building schools in remote areas and voluntary blood donation drives. Established and sustained for 13 years, iGo Club is one of the oldest student clubs at the university, and its community-oriented spirit has greatly influenced the FPT University student community.

At the FPT University branch in Ho Chi Minh City, students participate in the SiTiGroup volunteer community, engaging in activities like fundraising and teaching underprivileged children. This club has consistently been recognized for its outstanding contributions over three consecutive semesters.

Students at FPT University branches in Da Nang, Can Tho, and Binh Dinh also regularly organize volunteer activities, especially during occasions such as Lunar New Year, Youth Month, and the beginning of the academic year.

“Participating in volunteer activities at FPT University brings me great joy. I feel connected within a community of kind-hearted friends, all driven by a desire to help those in need, especially children and the elderly,” shared Thu Hao.

Engaging in community service provides significant experiences and enhances skills.

Community-oriented activities at FPT University exhibit distinct characteristics that set them apart from other student movements. They aim to support disadvantaged social groups, propagate humanitarian values, and are often organized in economically challenged areas. Each initiative requires enthusiastic and selfless support from its members. Many volunteer activities at FPT University have been sustained for years, growing in scale over time, demanding sustained commitment and perseverance in organization, team maintenance, and fostering voluntary spirit.

“Joining a volunteer club, I’ve worked in large teams, learning to plan programs ranging from small-scale activities like free tutoring for underprivileged children to larger initiatives like fundraising to provide Tet gifts for people in mountainous areas, enhancing my communication skills,” shared Thu Hao, a student at FPT University in Da Nang.

Thu Hao also elaborates that implementing a volunteer plan requires dedication, creativity, and developing new approaches to avoid the monotony of simple charity. The aim is to inspire and spread positivity not only to donors and recipients but especially to young volunteer teams like students.

“That’s why our volunteer club is not just ready to go to challenging places, roll up our sleeves to repair homes and teach children, but always brimming with creative ideas in every activity to ignite enthusiasm among participating members and attract community interest,” Hao adds.

She also believes that the learning environment at FPT University encourages proactive and creative thinking while respecting personal development. It’s a friendly and open atmosphere that facilitates easier access and greater involvement in volunteer activities for Gen Z individuals like herself.

“I find volunteer activities very meaningful. We enhance our soft skills while contributing to those in need, thereby calling for community support and solidarity,” concludes Thu Hao
