With the goal of building a “happy school,” FPT Education is inspiring its staff and employees through activities such as running, meditation, and trekking or mountain climbing trips…
On March 29, welcoming the monks from Plum Village (Thailand) to visit the campus of FPT University Da Nang, Dr. Le Truong Tung, President of FPT University, shared insights about the goal of building a “happy school” – a principle that the organization is aiming for in 2023.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Tung and FPT Education’s management staff spent time meditating with the monks from Plum Village right on the campus. Here, he also briefly introduced the activities, facilities, and faculty members of FPT Education nationwide.
According to him, with the goal of continuous expansion, FPT considers building a “happy school” as very important. In that, to create a happy school, first and foremost, the teachers must be happy. That’s why every staff member, lecturer, and teacher at FPT is encouraged to run daily. The school also regularly organizes meditation activities, as well as meditation retreats in Da Lat (Lam Dong province) and even Plum Village (Thailand).

FPT Education aims to build a happy school, create an outstanding experiential environment, and a kind education environment for learners,” he emphasized.
Regarding the future direction, Dr. Tung shared that FPT Education will expand to all provinces and cities. “At FPT, we not only focus on pure intellectual development but also emphasize experience. Currently, FPT Education has established the Vovinam Federation, the largest federation with 130,000 members nationwide. FPT is also introducing traditional musical instruments in schools to deepen the Vietnamese cultural experience.
At the event, the monks also shared stories about meditation and practice. For them, seeing the modern and spacious campus of FPT University Da Nang reminded them of their school days. Plum Village also has a mindfulness school, where learning is always placed at the top priority.

On the same day, the monks from Plum Village visited the FPT Primary and Secondary School in Da Nang, spent time chatting with the Hope School staff, and joined the children at the Hope School to water the plants and have dinner.
The monks also expressed their desire for Plum Village to accompany FPT Education and the children of Hope School in the goal of building a happy school. They aim to cooperate and apply the teachings of mindfulness and meditation to life, promoting the mental, physical, and intellectual development of individuals.
