All students from any major at FPT University with strong and flexible English communication skills are eligible to register for the competition.
The English Speaking Competition is an annual event organized by the Skillcetera Club — a student-led club focused on soft skills and languages — in collaboration with two strategic partners: TEDx FPT University HCMC and Best, an organization known for hosting diverse English-speaking talks and discussions.
With the 2025 theme “Break the Norm”, the competition aims to discover young talents who possess both creative thinking and strong English proficiency.

The competition consists of three rounds: Bound (Preliminary), Break (Semi-final), and Beyond (Final). The Preliminary Round (Bound) takes place from January 20 to February 23. The Top 30 contestants will advance to the Semi-final Round (Break), held from March 9 to March 26. The Top 10 finalists will compete in the Final Round (Beyond) on April 13 at FPT University. Contestants in the Final Round will go through two parts: In the first part, they will have 5 minutes to present their viewpoint on a pre-announced topic. Judges will evaluate persuasiveness, creativity, and language proficiency to select the Top 5 to move on to the deciding round to find the champion.
The First Prize winner will receive 5 million VND and the opportunity to become a media ambassador for TEDxFPTUniversityHCMC 2025. The Second Prize winner will receive 3 million VND, and the Third Prize winner will receive 2 million VND. Additionally, the “Potential Speaker” and “Audience Favorite” awards, selected by the judges and audience, will be awarded 500,000 VND each. All prize winners will receive certificates and souvenirs from the organizing committee.
The 2025 English Public Speaking Contest is expanding in scope, now welcoming not only FPT University students but also all college and university students across the country who are passionate about public speaking in English. Recently graduated students (within 6 months) are also eligible to join.
