From more than 600 applications nationwide, three startup projects by students of FPT University (FPTU) have made it to the finals of FPT Biz Talent 2025, affirming the creativity and determination of the young generation.
Lezon, DIMO and Aithenos are the three names representing the unstoppable innovation spirit of FPTU students. Each project tackles a different real-life problem, opening up promising business opportunities.
DIMO: AI Motion Capture solution “made in FPTU”
Developed by a group of students from FPTU Ho Chi Minh City campus, DIMO has drawn special attention from the judging panel. The project stands out not only for its creativity but also for its practical potential, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s 3D industry.
DIMO was born from the team’s self-research on markerless motion capture technology. When taking the Entrepreneurship course, instead of stopping at theory, they decided to turn their research into an applied solution.
According to the team, while motion capture (mocap) is widely used globally in film, gaming, and media, in Vietnam traditional mocap is still too costly and difficult to access. This gap inspired them to create DIMO – an affordable, easy-to-use tool. The biggest advantage of DIMO is that the core technology is fully developed in-house by students. This autonomy allows the team to optimize for convenience, cost-saving, and stable motion quality.
DIMO is an AI Motion Capture application that transforms 2D videos into 3D motion with just a few simple steps. In its MVP version, the product already offers two key features: Auto Rigging and Auto Animation. With these, users can save hundreds of working hours, cut equipment costs by billions of dong, and reduce risks compared to manual or traditional mocap methods.
Another difference lies in its usage model. While many international platforms require complex devices or charge per use, DIMO is designed as a desktop application with a user-friendly subscription plan, offering flexibility and unlimited use. “We hope DIMO will not only support freelancers, students, and small studios but also contribute to the growth of Vietnam’s 3D industry, while tapping into local culture and folklore to create products that captivate global audiences,” the team shared.
On its startup journey, DIMO has received strong support. FPTU funded 50 million VND to help realize the project. Special guidance from lecturer Phan Thi Dieu Ha (Entrepreneurship course) and support from FPTU Fest organizers also gave the team the chance to showcase real-time AI Mocap in front of thousands of audiences. Such backing became a great motivation as DIMO enters the finals of FPT Biz Talent 2025.
Aithenos: Personalized learning experience built by Vietnamese students
Aithenos started from Vu Trung Quan, a student at FPTU Hanoi campus, who struggled to find an effective learning method for his younger brother. Together with student partners from various universities, he created Aithenos – an AI-powered application that personalizes learning journeys for students.
What makes Aithenos unique is its ability to identify each student’s knowledge gaps and design a tailored study path instead of applying one-size-fits-all lessons. “Aithenos creates programs based on each student’s strengths and weaknesses. It also integrates gamified learning, interactive quizzes, and smart reminders to make learning engaging and avoid passive study,” the team explained. This blend of personalization and motivation gives Aithenos a clear competitive edge, enabling long-term and effective support for learners.
After nearly a year of testing, Aithenos has already generated nearly 985 million VND in revenue and received positive feedback from both students and parents. “Our founding team has 18 members from different universities, but we share the same goal of creating a useful product for the younger generation. That spirit makes school differences fade away,” Trung Quan said.
The project has also benefited from mentorship and feedback from lecturers across FPT Education, who provided valuable input and helped connect the team with students to better understand their challenges. This support has refined the product and proven its practical value.
For Aithenos, joining FPT Biz Talent 2025 is not only about competing but also an opportunity to gain feedback from judges and the market, helping shorten the path to real users.
Memory of Heritage: Bringing bai choi art into the world of young technology
Concerned about the fading awareness of bai choi – a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage from central Vietnam – the Lezon team launched the project “Memory of Heritage.” Their mission: to preserve and spread cultural values by bringing bai choi into the modern tech world, making it more appealing to young people.
Cao Thao Van, FPTU Da Nang student and leader of Lezon, shared: “Memory of Heritage is not just a game or a tech app. We want to build an ecosystem around bai choi that combines 3D gaming and AR, so young people can learn, play, and connect tradition with modernity. The project carries the mission of refreshing and spreading heritage in contemporary life.”
Beyond entertainment, the project also provides cultural education and unique experiences. Team member Chau Thai Ha, R&D Specialist, said: “Our biggest advantage is the combination of three elements: cultural education, technological experience, and next-gen entertainment. Thanks to this, the product can attract young people while also promoting Vietnamese culture internationally.”
The team members, who previously competed in FPT Biz Talent 2023, used their experience to turn differences in school backgrounds into a strength, pooling diverse resources. For Lezon, FPT Biz Talent 2025 is not just a startup contest but also a chance for real-world practice, management training, and networking with experts, businesses, and students nationwide.
The road to the finals
Along with two other university-level teams (Table A) and five high-school-level teams (Table B), Lezon, DIMO, and Aithenos will join the mentorship phase from August 21 to September 12, 2025. During this time, they will receive direct coaching from experts and business representatives to refine their projects.
At the end of this phase, teams will present complete projects, proving their real-world value before the judging panel at the national finals, scheduled for September 14–15, 2025, at the National Innovation Center (NIC), Hanoi.
FPT Biz Talent is an annual startup competition attracting students nationwide, with total prizes worth 260 million VND. Winners in each category will receive 50 million VND in cash along with a study trip to Singapore.
