For the first time in history, a Vietnamese university has officially marked its name on the international education map: FPT University (FPTU) has won the “Marketing Campaign of the Year” category at The PIEoneer Awards 2025 with its campaign “STEM Education in the Age of AI”.
The PIEoneer Awards are recognized by the international academic community as one of the most prestigious global education honors, celebrating outstanding initiatives and communication campaigns by universities and international education organizations, often referred to as the “Oscars of education”.
Organized annually since 2017 by The PIE (Professionals in International Education), the awards honor innovation and excellence in international education. To reach the final shortlist, hundreds of nominations were carefully reviewed by a panel of experts. This year, the ceremony took place on September 5, 2025, at Guildhall, London (UK), featuring 148 finalists across 22 categories.
The “Marketing Campaign of the Year” category drew special attention as it recognizes creative and impactful education marketing campaigns with measurable results. FPT University’s presence in the final alongside world-renowned institutions such as Manchester Uni. and Oxford, and ultimately securing the victory, highlights the stature and competitiveness of Vietnamese education on the global stage.
The “STEM Education in the Age of AI” campaign was launched in the context of artificial intelligence reshaping education and the global workforce. FPT University’s campaign provided free AI training to more than 15,000 school leaders, teachers, and students in Vietnam and abroad. Since 2024, its activities have ranged from the “Hieu truong 4.0” conference with over 1,200 school leaders, AI teaching application training for 8,500 teachers, AI experiential programs for 3,600 students, to the “STEM in AI Era” course for nearly 4,700 teachers delivered both online and offline. Covering diverse topics – from Python programming, IoT, Robotics to integrating AI into lesson planning, presentations, and projects – the campaign not only enhanced digital capacity for teachers and students but also affirmed FPT University’s pioneering role in bringing AI and STEM closer to Vietnam’s general education. Its influence has been amplified through leading domestic and international media.
The campaign has attracted millions of online engagements, thousands of students directly joining hands-on activities, and strong support from major technology companies.
With broad social impact, “STEM Education in the Age of AI” contributes directly to realizing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on developing high-quality human resources in the digital era. By spreading new knowledge and skills, the campaign supports teachers and students in preparing the workforce of the future – creative, confident, and responsible digital citizens.
In addition, FPTU has been a pioneer in hosting training activities and technology events to bring AI and STEM to the wider community, such as online classes, the FPTU GenAI Day event, the “STEM Education in the AI Era” training project, and the GenAI 2025 technology exhibition – each attracting thousands of participants.
Winning this award not only showcases Vietnam’s educational standing on the world stage but also reinforces FPT University’s strong commitment to social responsibility through concrete and impactful actions.
