Students and lecturers of FPT University brought a variety of cultural, artistic and technological activities to the 80 Years of National Achievements Exhibition (A80), contributing to showcasing the vitality and intellect of Vietnam in the nation’s development journey.
Within the framework of A80, held at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Ha Noi) from August 28 to September 5, FPT Corporation participated with a booth themed “AI Nation”. As a member of the FPT ecosystem, FPT University also contributed with distinctive performances.
On the morning of August 29, lecturers and students from the Traditional Instruments program of FPT University performed the medleys “Viet Nam trong toi la” and “Giai dieu Viet Nam minh” to enthusiastic applause from audiences of all ages. What made the performance special was the use of six traditional instruments — dan bau, sao, dan nhi, dan tranh, dan ty ba and dan nguyet — all of which are currently taught to every student at FPT University.
The teaching and integration of traditional instruments into the curriculum at FPT University reflects an effort to preserve and spread Vietnam’s long-standing cultural values among the younger generation. Through melodies at A80, lecturers and students expressed their love for the homeland while adding a youthful and modern color to the nation’s collective achievements.
Le Minh Quan, a K18 student majoring in Software Engineering, said she was honored to perform at A80 — a major and meaningful national event. She shared: “This is an opportunity for me to introduce and share traditional music with everyone. In today’s fast-developing technological era, preserving and spreading the beauty of our cultural heritage has become even more meaningful.”
Ta Van Tai, a K18 student majoring in Artificial Intelligence and another member of the performance team, spoke about the audience’s reception: “I was touched and very happy to see the older generation — those who gave their all in wartime — enjoy our performance.”
Beyond the traditional music performance, FPT University students also contributed to other activities at the FPT booth during A80. On the morning of August 31, they will showcase the martial spirit with a powerful and captivating Vovinam demonstration. This discipline, also part of the university’s curriculum, not only trains resilience in young people but also evokes pride in Vietnam’s national spirit.
Adding a modern dimension to the FPT booth was the participation of the FPTU Data Science Club on the afternoon of September 1. Students introduced hand tracking games they developed themselves and invited visitors to experience them on site. This activity highlighted the research and technological creativity of FPT University students, while also underscoring the practical meaning of technology training at the university: equipping students with mastery of new knowledge and contributing to a high-quality workforce ready to support the nation in the digital era and global integration.
A80 celebrates the nation’s glorious historical journey and ignites the aspirations of Vietnamese people in a time of national rise. In that solemn atmosphere, FPT University students proudly took part, continuing the tradition of their predecessors while affirming a spirit of integration and innovation, joining hands to move Vietnam forward on the path of prosperity.
