Learning from Experience – The Global Cultural Exchange Trend Among University Students

To provide opportunities for students to gain real-world experience and develop skills, many universities are focusing on student exchange programs and expanding international study opportunities. Recently, FPT University organized a 7-day Study Tour in South Korea for students, visiting a series of famous landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Namsan Tower, and more.

This is an annual program organized by the International Cooperation and Personal Development (IC-PDP) department at FPT University, providing opportunities for students to immerse themselves in the local culture, explore and learn from foreign cultures, and engage with partner universities of FPT University worldwide. The program is open to students from all five campuses of FPT University (Hanoi, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho) across the country.

With the mission of ‘Providing global competitiveness to a diverse student body, contributing to the intellectual expansion of the nation,’ FPT University focuses on expanding opportunities for student integration.

In addition to offering internationally standardized English courses and providing students with a third language while still in school, FPT University also organizes English courses in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, etc., for students from their first academic year, before they officially enter their specialized study program. This provides students with opportunities for cultural exchange, language practice, and improvement of soft skills while living independently abroad.

Moreover, FPT University prioritizes programs like Semester Abroad and On-the-Job Training abroad for three months. It’s worth noting that most study programs at FPT University include international exchange opportunities in countries that align with the specific characteristics of students’ majors and study programs.

Currently, students from FPT University are spreading across Asia, conducting internships in countries like Japan and the Philippines in various fields such as Information Technology, Business, English Language, and Multimedia Communication.

Through participation in international exchange programs, FPT University students not only expand their knowledge but also develop communication, leadership, and creative thinking skills in multicultural environments.

In today’s globalized world, exposure to diverse cultures not only deepens students’ understanding of the world but also encourages diversity and creativity in thinking and actions. Therefore, international experiential programs are not just learning opportunities but also inspiring journeys for self-discovery and overcoming limits to become global citizens in the future.
