Studying English Abroad: The Valuable Experiences of FPT University Students
After participating in the English study program abroad, FPT University students not only improve their foreign language skills but also gain a broader perspective on global opportunities for living, working, and studying.
Exciting Plans
Soon after becoming a student at FPT University, Nguyen Le Quang Thang and Tran Huyen Trang had the chance to join the English study program abroad. Their excitement and eagerness for new experiences were packed neatly in their luggage along with books and personal belongings, as they set off for Thailand.
The students participated in a three-week English language program organized by FPT University at a local school. During the week, they attended English classes and engaged in cultural and educational activities at the school. On weekends, they explored local life, culture, and visited famous landmarks.
“I will be communicating in English 100% of the time, both at school and wherever I go. I am a bit anxious, but more excited,” shared Huyen Trang, a Multimedia Communication student. She also plans to visit famous tourist spots and meet locals to better understand Thailand’s culture and people.
Quang Thang, a Digital Art Design student, aims to enhance his communication skills through this program. He is excited about the opportunity to learn English with native teachers and interact with Thai friends.

Enhancing Skills and Expanding Global Perspectives
“During the three weeks of studying, we were able to improve our knowledge and listening and speaking skills with teachers from various countries and Thai friends. Each class was enjoyable and engaging. The teachers and friends were very friendly and supportive,” Quang Thang shared.
Huyen Trang recalls that in the early days in Thailand, she was “shy about speaking English with friends,” but later she was surprised by her ability to “communicate in a foreign language across continents.” “The learning method, which combined cultural exploration through field trips and completing assignments, made the experience both fun and inspiring,” Trang said.
According to Quang Thang and Huyen Trang, studying English abroad not only helps improve language skills and connect with international teachers and friends but also offers the opportunity for independence and personal growth. “I had the chance to experience many new things and learn life lessons and self-reliance skills while abroad,” Thang said.
These new experiences and relationships have given Thang and Trang a favorable impression of Thailand and other countries in general. These FPT University students have begun to see new opportunities for living, studying, and working abroad. “Even after returning to Vietnam, I still remember the open and warm-hearted Thai friends,” Trang expressed. For her, studying English abroad was the right decision.
As for Thang, who aims to become a “professional designer capable of working abroad,” such programs are a valuable opportunity to prepare the knowledge and skills needed for that goal.
To study in a dynamic environment with many opportunities for going abroad like Huyen Trang and Quang Thang, prospective students should quickly complete the necessary procedures to become an official student at FPT University.
