Can Tho – Celebrating Heritage with Technology at the FPT Edu Color Up 2024 Finals

On the evening of May 24th, the Can Tho Campus of FPT University will host the finals of the FPT Edu Color Up 2024 graphic design competition, featuring 13 outstanding works showcasing the abilities of FPT students in leveraging technology to promote the value of heritage.

The FPT Edu Color Up 2024 finals will witness a showdown of 13 graphic design works from FPT Education Organization students in two categories: Art & Entertainment and Advertising & Commercial. Each piece represents the youth’s perspective on Vietnamese heritage, combined with the application of digital technology to address the challenges presented by the theme “Heritage & Technology”: promoting the value of heritage and Vietnamese cultural values.

A variety of heritage sites, portrayed through different digital art forms, will showcase the richness and diversity of Vietnam’s cultural treasures. Traditional art forms such as Tuong (classical opera), Xam (blind music), water puppetry, and Hoi An’s Bai Choi folk singing, as well as Khmer theatrical arts and the Ngo Okombok boat race, are creatively expressed through technology and contemporary perspectives. Closer-to-life heritage elements such as Tet celebrations in the Mekong Delta, Saigon culture, ceramic mosaic patterns, Vietnamese cuisine, tourist attractions, and the Mother Queen Temple in Quang Nam, as well as traditional Vietnamese folk games, will be presented by FPT students to the judging panel and audience through the language of design and the spirit of youth mastering technology.

“Heritage” is often perceived as a macro-level concept with a certain generational gap, especially for Gen Z, promising to bring a fresh, youthful, accessible, and motivating approach for young people to explore and disseminate at the FPT Edu Color Up 2024 finals on May 24th.

Following the finals, all artworks will be exhibited at Luu Huu Phuoc Park, Can Tho City, as an opportunity to bring Vietnamese heritage closer to the community and inspire the use of technology to innovate heritage in the young generation’s way. The exhibition will run for 2 days, from May 26th to May 27th and will be open to the public free of charge.
