On the morning of October 26, 2022, students of Hotel Management at FPT University, Hanoi, had an enjoyable 1-day experience at the 5-star Westlake Hotel & Resort Vinh Phuc.
Westlake Hotel & Resort Vinh Phuc is a 5-star resort complex. Possessing luxurious and modern architecture with the main hotel building and many surrounding villas, the campus is located along the banks of the Vac lagoon, providing a full range of 5-star quality services to enhance the visitors’ holiday.
For students in the Hotel Management specialization, theoretical knowledge is not enough; it is essential to experience and acquire skills and experiences from practice. Understanding that need, FPT University’s Business and Alumni Relations Department collaborated with the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management to organize Hotel Tour: “An experience day at Westlake Hotel & Resort Vinh Phuc” for students in the Hotel Management specialization at FPT University, Hanoi.
Ha Thanh Hai – CEO of Westlake Hotel & Resort Vinh Phuc, said: “The development speed of Vietnam in general and of the hotel management industry in particular is very fast. With this development, we can be completely proud that Vietnam has been able to compete with other countries, not inferior to other powerful countries in the world. Having the development like today is the unremitting efforts of our previous generations. I hope that you also have to work hard and try to make the hotel management industry even more developed. Please study hard, practice skills, improve yourself to be able to do better than us”.
In response, the representative of FPT University Hanoi, Ms. Bui Thu Huyen – Head of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, thanked the hotel and also had a special gift for Westlake Hotel & Resort Vinh Phuc.
After that, the students were allowed to visit, practice experience at important positions at the hotel: reception position, practice check-in – check-out for guests; setting up the dining table, and dining room in Asian – European style; visit the system of modern Suite rooms; learn more knowledge and practice practical housekeeping tasks, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong – Deputy head of reception at Westlake Hotel & Resort Vinh Phuc, has complimented FPT University students: “I didn’t expect you guys to do so well. A difficult topic, a difficult situation was given but you guys handled it very well, English is fluent, you still see a few of you who can speak Chinese right? I have a compliment for you.”
At the end of the day, the students learned a lot of practical knowledge and valuable experience when working in the hotel management industry. The students were very excited about the experience. Hopefully, after this experience, you have had a goal, a plan to try, develop and perfect yourself.
