FPT Students’ Special Internship Program: Launching Support for the Implementation of Resolution 57 in Quang Ninh

Students of FPT University have been assigned to nearly 30 communes and wards across Quang Ninh Province, including remote areas and localities with special administrative status such as the Co To Special Zone. They are directly involved in supporting local authorities and residents in the implementation of Resolution 57.

On the morning of January 6, the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province and FPT University signed a cooperation agreement on placing students for internships at agencies and units across the province. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung – Full-time Member of the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh – Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Vu Thi Mai Anh – Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa – Chief Executive Officer of FPT Corporation; Mr. Le Truong Tung – Chairman of the Board of Management of FPT University; Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang – Vice Rector of FPT University; along with leaders and representatives from central agencies, Quang Ninh Province, and FPT Corporation.

The People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province and FPT University have signed a cooperation agreement on placing students for internships at agencies, units, and local authorities across the province.

Under the agreement, FPT University students will participate in digital transformation activities at the People’s Committees of communes, wards, and special administrative units throughout Quang Ninh Province from January to April 2026. All participating students are majoring in Information Technology and possess solid knowledge of technology and data. The entire participation period is recognized as the OJT (On-the-Job Training) semester—a compulsory practical training semester for all FPT University students under the University’s formal academic programs.

Specifically, students will directly support the implementation of Quang Ninh Province’s information technology and digital transformation programs, schemes, and projects, ranging from advisory work and task execution to actual system operation. In addition, students will assist in the management and operation of IT technical infrastructure, integrated data centers, information systems, and shared software platforms at agencies and units; support data updating and standardization; apply information technology in the handling of administrative procedures; ensure cybersecurity and information security; and effectively leverage digital platforms for governance and administration.

The students have been systematically trained in both technology and professional skills to support local authorities in the implementation of Resolution 57.

In addition, FPT University students will participate in supporting the organization of training sessions and providing guidance on the use of digital platforms for businesses and residents across the province. Prior to officially taking part in local support activities, the students were equipped with updated knowledge and skills related to information security, professional procedures for supporting the implementation of Resolution 57 within government agencies, as well as relevant legal regulations such as the Law on Cybersecurity, the Law on Personal Data Protection, and other related resolutions and legal documents.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa – Chief Executive Officer of FPT Corporation – emphasized that the collaboration with Quang Ninh Province to deploy FPT University students to support the grassroots-level implementation of Resolution 57 represents a new model, being implemented nationwide for the first time. This model demonstrates the close linkage among the State, educational institutions, and enterprises. It not only helps supplement local human resources in the implementation of Resolution 57, but also enables students to gain hands-on experience in a real-world environment, gradually forming a reserve pool of technology human resources ready to contribute to bringing the Party’s and Government’s policies and directives on Resolution 57 into practical implementation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, representing FPT Corporation and FPT University, affirmed their commitment to accompanying Quang Ninh Province in its digital transformation journey as well as in the implementation of major policies of the Party and the State.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa also shared the commitment of FPT Corporation and FPT University to long-term cooperation with Quang Ninh Province in implementing Resolution 71 and Resolution 57; to monitoring and evaluating the practical effectiveness of the State–University–Enterprise cooperation model in deploying students for local internships to support the implementation of Resolution 57; and to investing in the construction of facilities serving research, digital transformation deployment, and the development of high-quality technology human resources. The Concentrated Digital Technology Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project in Tuan Chau, Quang Ninh Province, which was launched on December 19, serves as a representative example of this commitment.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh – Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee – stated that the demand for technology human resources in Quang Ninh is currently very high. High-quality human resources are regarded as the province’s “diamonds.” The cooperation with FPT Corporation and FPT University in deploying technology students to support agencies, units, and local authorities has been assessed as a practical model, well aligned with the province’s development orientation.

FPT University students have been assigned to nearly 30 communes and wards across Quang Ninh Province to support local authorities and residents in the implementation of Resolution 57.

Through these activities, students not only contribute to spreading digital skills within the community but also directly experience the role of technology human resources in driving digital transformation. They are given opportunities to work in a real-world, professional environment, gaining direct access to the information technology systems and processes of government agencies, thereby accumulating practical experience in the field of digital transformation.

The direct participation of FPT University students in digital transformation projects in Quang Ninh Province has affirmed FPT University’s practice-oriented training model, where students “learn by doing,” engage in real-world work, and begin addressing major societal challenges while still at university.
