FPT University Hosts Kizuna Day 2025 – A Japanese Cultural Festival for Students

Kizuna Day 2025, organized by FPT University, is a Japanese cultural festival tailored for university and college students across Hanoi, offering a series of academic and artistic activities along with meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange.

The event was held at FPT University Hanoi and jointly organized by the Student Relations Office and the Japanese Language Department. It aimed to create a vibrant cultural space where students could immerse themselves in the richness of Japanese traditions through interactive, educational, and creative activities.

KIZUNA DAY

Inspired by the spirit of “kizuna” – the Japanese word for “bond,” symbolizing connection and sharing – the festival served as a platform for students to connect through language, art, and the values of Japanese culture.

One of the event’s highlights was the F-Talks Japanese speech contest, exclusively designed for university and college students in Hanoi. The competition provided a space for young participants to express their perspectives, sharpen their critical thinking, and strengthen their language proficiency. In the preliminary round, contestants submitted a 3-to-5-minute presentation video on a given topic. The top seven entries advanced to the final round, which will be held on June 23 at FPT University, where contestants will deliver their speeches and respond to critical questions from the judging panel.

F-Talks will award 1 First Prize (VND 5 million), 1 Second Prize (VND 3 million), 1 Third Prize (VND 2 million), 2 Consolation Prizes (VND 1.5 million each), 1 Promising Award (VND 1 million), and 1 Creative Award (VND 1 million).

In addition, students had the opportunity to showcase their musical talent through the Karaoke Contest – a lively music competition for those passionate about the Japanese language. The contest encouraged self-expression through singing and stage performance. The preliminary round was conducted online, requiring contestants to submit a performance video no longer than 1 minute and 30 seconds. Participants could compete individually or in groups of 2–5 members. Judging criteria combined the scores from the jury and engagement on social media. The 10 best individuals or teams will perform live at FPT University on Kizuna Day, June 23.

The prize structure for the Karaoke Contest includes: 1 First Prize (VND 5 million), 1 Second Prize (VND 3 million), 1 Third Prize (VND 2 million), 3 Consolation Prizes (VND 1.5 million each), along with several special awards.

Students wishing to participate in F-Talks and the Karaoke Contest must submit their entries to the Student Relations Office by June 12, 2025.
