Continuing its series of meaningful activities under the campaign “STEM Education in the Age of AI”, FPT University has officially launched the online course “Applying AI in Teaching and Learning – AI Tools for Image and Video Creation”, which has quickly gained strong attention from teachers and students nationwide.
Right in the first session, the course attracted over 3,000 teachers and students from across the country. This milestone marks the first time the university has extended its training beyond its internal teaching staff, aiming to empower both teachers and students to master AI in education — realizing the vision of a comprehensively digitalized learning environment.
The course “Applying AI in Teaching and Learning – AI Tools for Image and Video Creation” officially began on October 6 and will complete its first phase on October 14, 2025. It is structured into three sessions with systematically arranged content to help participants gradually master the skills of integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and digital content creation.
In the first session, learners were introduced to basic prompt structures (text or command inputs used to activate and instruct AI actions) and learned how to generate illustrative image sets tailored to their lessons or personal topics. With just a few lines of natural language, AI could vividly “paint” users’ ideas, receiving highly positive feedback from participants.
The second session focused on improving prompt-writing and image-editing skills, enabling participants to create professional illustrations ready for classroom use. The final session explored advanced AI applications, guiding teachers and students to generate videos featuring virtual MCs, completing short educational videos for lesson introductions or thematic presentations.
Practical, hands-on learning experience
Unlike technically heavy training programs, FPT University’s course emphasizes practicality and immediate applicability. Teachers were guided on how to effectively leverage popular AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Canva, along with various AI-based image and video generation platforms. These tools allow them to transform dry theoretical content into visually engaging materials and dynamic teaching videos.
According to representatives of FPT University, the goal goes beyond teaching tool usage — it lies in helping teachers develop creative thinking alongside AI, turning academic data into engaging, relatable, and student-focused learning content.
Sharing his experience, Bui Huy Hoang, a teacher at Nguyen Trai High School (Ho Chi Minh City), expressed his excitement:
“After the first session, I could clearly feel the instructors’ enthusiasm and the practical value of the content. Although I’m already familiar with AI tools, this course introduced me to several new platforms that support my teaching. In my chemistry classes, I often use AI to simulate laboratory equipment, and I look forward to learning more applicable knowledge in the upcoming sessions.”
Hoang’s reflection embodies the “AI for the community” spirit that FPT University continues to pursue. The university’s mission is not only to popularize technology but also to empower teachers to confidently adopt AI as a supportive partner in teaching — rather than a challenge to overcome.
From theory to practical implementation
The AI image and video creation course is a crucial link in the “STEM Education in the Age of AI” campaign, launched by FPT University in June 2024. The program has collaborated closely with provincial and municipal Departments of Education and Training to organize both online and offline courses, contributing effectively to the implementation of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, and national digital transformation.
The training content is comprehensively designed, focusing on six core topics — from applying AI in teaching, exploring AI through Teachable Machine, to programming and connecting IoT devices via Micro:bit and developing autonomous vehicles. The program also emphasizes hands-on experience: teachers are guided to assemble, program, and apply technology through real-world models, strengthening their ability to integrate technology into daily classroom activities.
After more than a year of implementation, the “STEM Education in the Age of AI” campaign has reached over 15,000 school leaders, teachers, and students nationwide, and has donated more than 500 STEM learning kits to schools. These efforts have enabled teachers and students to access, explore, and master technology right in their classrooms.
Such consistent and impactful efforts have earned FPT University international recognition. The university was honored at The PIEoneer Awards — known as the “Oscars of Education” — in the “Marketing Campaign of the Year” category. FPT University is the only representative from Vietnam alongside prestigious global institutions such as Oxford and Manchester, affirming its pioneering role and strategic vision in democratizing AI and preparing future-ready human resources for the digital era.
