On November 30, 2025, the seminar “AI applications in education” was held with the participation of lecturers and academic staff from various departments and faculties of FPT University, Can Tho campus. The seminar aimed to spread the spirit of innovation and to share practical models for applying artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching activities, operations, and higher education management.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong – Vice Rector of FPT University and Director of FPT University at Can Tho – affirmed: “AI is no longer an option, but an inevitable trend. The application of AI not only helps improve individual productivity but also optimizes the learning experience for students, modernizes training management, and enhances the efficiency of university operations.” He also emphasized the role of lecturers in adapting to new tools, viewing AI as a teaching companion, while encouraging bold experimentation and readiness to change approaches in the era of digital transformation.
Accordingly, FPT University will orient the development of training programs in line with the context of rapid AI advancement. The University will gradually transition toward a flipped classroom model, focusing on enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving skills rather than traditional one-way knowledge delivery.
Within the program framework, representatives from departments and faculties shared various AI application models currently being implemented, such as the use of AI in digital learning material design, essay grading, speaking skills assessment, learning advisory chatbots, AI-based learning data analysis, automation of assessment processes, student performance forecasting, and class organization. In addition, units highlighted the potential of AI applications in optimizing management processes, providing faster and more effective student support through internal chatbot systems, automated task reminders, and feedback data analysis.
The seminar concluded in an open, creative atmosphere with a shared consensus on development direction. The practical insights and concrete proposals from participating units will serve as an important foundation for FPT University to continue deploying AI applications in governance and operations, contributing to improved training effectiveness, optimized resource utilization, and diversified learning experiences for students.
