FPT University’s Alpha Building has made a mark on the national architectural landscape by officially being named one of the “Top 50 Outstanding Architectural Works in Southern Vietnam.”
On April 19, the Alpha Building at FPT University’s Da Nang campus was selected for the list of “50 Outstanding Architectural Works in Southern Provinces and Cities,” announced during the thematic conference “Vietnamese Architecture – 50 Years of National Reunification” organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Architects Association. The event gathered leading experts nationwide in urban planning, design, criticism, preservation, and architectural education.
The Alpha Building impresses with a design inspired by stacked books – a familiar symbol in student life – embodying the spirit of continuous knowledge accumulation over time. Its multi-directional block structure creates a dynamic and spatially rich learning environment while enabling flexible connectivity between functional areas.
In addition to its aesthetic value, the building is also highly regarded for its practical functionality. The Alpha Building is designed to optimize natural lighting and ventilation, contributing to a healthy indoor climate and reduced energy consumption. Environmentally friendly building materials, particularly flexible fiber-reinforced concrete, were selected to enhance the project’s sustainability. With these strengths, the building’s design was highly praised by World Architecture, a global architectural community, which awarded it the “Designed Award Winning Architecture Projects” recognition.
Commenced in August 2022 and officially operational since early 2024, the Alpha Building spans over 17,400 square meters in total floor area, providing space for learning, working, and activities for approximately 6,000 students and faculty members. Dr. Le Truong Tung – Chairman of the Board of FPT University – shared that Alpha is a project dedicated to education, carrying symbolic and humanistic meaning. It stands as a landmark of FPT University’s rapid and outstanding development, fostering a vibrant and empowering environment for staff, lecturers, and students to work, study, and grow effectively.
