On January 16th, FPT University, in collaboration with the Hanoi City Police, organized a training session on “Fire safety knowledge and firefighting drills” for students to raise awareness about fire prevention and safety.
The training session was attended by faculty members, healthcare staff, security personnel, and nearly 100 FPT University students. The program lasted nearly 3 hours and included two main activities: imparting knowledge on fire safety (PCCC) and rescue operations (CNCH), as well as practical drills.
During the knowledge-sharing session, Hanoi City Police officers provided an overview of fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue operations. The topics covered included the current fire and explosion situation, common causes of fires, notable fire incidents, and effective preventive measures both in the workplace and at home.
In addition, students were taught and practiced escape skills in emergency situations, as well as being introduced to basic firefighting equipment.
After the theoretical session, participants took part in practical drills on how to use firefighting equipment at FPT University, under the guidance of the police officers.
During the drill, students also had the opportunity to observe specific scenarios using dry powder fire extinguishers and CO2 fire extinguishers to extinguish a simulated fire at the FPT University dormitory
In addition, students were trained in important skills such as escape techniques and first aid for victims, enabling them to respond quickly in dangerous situations.
The combination of theory and practice in the program provided a valuable fire safety learning experience, helping students feel more confident in protecting themselves and their community.
