The first nationwide startup idea competition for high school students organized by FPT University students

The project team successfully organized the Aspiring Vietnam Contest 2024, covering over 50 provinces and cities, in collaboration with many renowned brands across various fields in Vietnam.

Aspiring Vietnam Contest 2024 is a competition jointly implemented by K17 students majoring in Multimedia Communication at FPT University and the organization Abroad in Vietnam (a community sharing experiences for young people seeking scholarships). This competition serves as the graduation project for the group “Hat Nhai,” comprising five members: Do Le Dan (Team Leader), Nguyen Thi Tue Nhi, Nguyen Thi Viet Thu, Nguyen Thuy Duong, and Nguyen Doan Anh Vu, under the guidance of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue – a lecturer in Multimedia Communication.

The idea to develop the competition began when the group had the opportunity to converse with Mr. Nguyen Trong Khoi, co-founder of Abroad in Vietnam. From his sharing about the desire to create a playground for high school students to freely express creativity and enhance knowledge to secure university scholarships, the group decided to collaborate with Abroad in Vietnam to develop a competition embodying the value of “Nurturing Talents.”

Thus, Aspiring Vietnam Contest 2024 was born, aiming to discover and unleash the hidden potential of contestants through presenting startup ideas. The competition not only provides opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills but also contributes to enhancing and expanding Vietnam’s cultural and intellectual capital.

High school students participating in the competition will have four fields to explore startup ideas, corresponding to four categories proposed by major domestic brands: Creative – Biti’s Hunter, Business – Cho Tot, Technology – Zalo, Well-being – The Coffee House.

After five months of implementing the media campaign for Aspiring Vietnam Contest 2024, the project attracted 1,065 applications from over 258 high schools in 50 provinces nationwide; garnered over 1.5 million impressions on media platforms, and reached more than 200,000 new users on the “Aspiring Vietnam” fanpage. The group’s efforts were recognized with an excellent project score of 9.8, earning the title of Valedictorian in Multimedia Communication.

Additionally, the project received support from many renowned brands, notably Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam – which hosted the competition’s events free of charge.

After a long journey with Aspiring Vietnam Contest 2024, the “Hat Nhai” group realized that their “endurance” at work had been significantly honed. The group not only managed the competition’s operations but also executed a nationwide media campaign.

During this process, the group developed detailed plans in a short time, ensured the continuous production and release of media publications, organized the competition with a large number of contestants, and maintained close collaborative relationships with many partners. These efforts not only demonstrate adaptability but also affirm the group’s determination to achieve success.

Member Viet Thu (K17 – Multimedia Communication) shared: “We are fortunate to have received interest and affection from high school students across 50 provinces nationwide, and our efforts were acknowledged and highly appreciated by the judging panel. What we cherish most is connecting and building close relationships with high school students. They are very affectionate and have a lot of love for the competition. Some even sent us encouraging emails before our graduation project defense.”

Not stopping at the scope of a graduation project, the organizing committee of Aspiring Vietnam 2024 has planned post-competition activities for contestants, continuing the mission of spreading positive values to the community.
