The “heat” of FPTU Open Day 2026: thousands of Gen Z from across the country flock in to explore academic majors and a cutting-edge learning environment
Over two days, December 6 and 7, the atmosphere at FPT University remained vibrant as thousands of high school students and teachers flocked to its Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Can Tho campuses to join the Open Day 2026 admissions event series. Designed specifically for Gen Z, the multi-experience activities created an inspiring journey where young participants could immerse themselves in university life and explore the pathways best suited to their future.
Nearly 1,000 high school students embark on a “multi-experience” journey at FPTU Ho Chi Minh City
On the morning of December 6, the campus of FPT University (FPTU) in Ho Chi Minh City buzzed with excitement as large numbers of high school students and teachers arrived to take part in Open Day. Beyond campus tours, participants truly “stepped into” student life at FPTU through a series of academic, cultural, and technology-based activities designed under the “real learning – real practice” model.
In the academic zone, technology classes attracted particularly large numbers of students. Participants engaged in hands-on activities at Ohm Lab and Innovation Lab, exploring core technologies such as AI, semiconductor microchips, robot programming, and information security. In the cultural experience area, students discovered Vietnamese identity through traditional musical instrument classes while also broadening their global perspective by learning about the cultures of Japan, Korea, and China. These activities helped students better understand the multicultural environment, one of FPT University’s distinctive characteristics.
Nguyen Le Thanh Truc, a Grade 12 student from Le Quy Don High School (Tay Ninh), shared enthusiastically: “I plan to pursue an economics-related major and had already learned about FPTU. I really want to study here but was worried because my English is not very strong. However, after being advised by seniors and learning that the university offers English courses from levels 1 to 6, allowing students to start from the basics before entering their major, I feel much more confident.”
1,500 students “touch – try – explore” at FPTU Da Nang
The following day, December 7, nearly 1,500 high school students from Hue and Da Nang attended the event at FPT University Da Nang campus.
From early morning, the campus turned into a “check-in paradise” with countless photo spots, from modern architecture to event-specific photobooths. Meanwhile, the state-of-the-art lab system was constantly filled with young visitors eager to “touch the future” through career simulations, hands-on equipment use, and real-world technology experiences. This was one of the largest experiential events of the year for students in central Viet Nam. More than 100 activities designed exclusively for Gen Z, spanning technology, economics, languages, media, arts, and entertainment, transformed the campus into a “mini experience world” where every Gen Z participant could freely try, explore, and discover the best version of themselves.
Alongside practical activities, the seminar “Understand correctly – decide correctly” attracted many students with its career guidance content, helping them identify suitable learning paths based on individual capabilities and goals. The Game Zone became a “hot spot” with exclusive games such as Excavator Arena, Code Battle, Hue “Zet” Chill Game, Bingo Show, and VR Game, creating a dynamic and energetic atmosphere. Meanwhile, the “Art in your hands” workshop brought festive Christmas colors through activities like tree decorating, canvas painting, handmade wreaths, and frame decoration, allowing students to unleash their creativity and produce personalized works. Throughout the event, FPTU lecturers and staff provided academic and career counseling, clearly explaining admissions methods, preliminary selection exams, and scholarship opportunities for 2026.
High school students explore the multi-experience learning environment at FPTU Can Tho
On the same day, FPT University Can Tho campus welcomed more than 300 Grade 12 students from Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School (An Giang) to visit and learn about its international-standard educational environment. This activity was part of the university’s regular career orientation programs, helping students directly access the multi-experience training model. From the check-in area, students were grouped according to their fields of interest, such as Information Technology, Business Administration, Law, Communication Technology, Languages, and Finance. This structured grouping enabled students to access relevant content and optimize their experience throughout the visit.
During the program, students toured modern practice facilities such as IA Lab, AS-AI & IoT Lab, Hovilo Bar and Hovilo Hotel, and F-Studio. At each location, instead of only listening to introductions, students were able to “see, hear, touch, speak, and feel” through hands-on experiences, including graphic design classes, traditional musical instrument sessions, MC practice, interaction with AI–IoT applications, and observing students competing in Business Challenge contests. These activities helped students better understand how knowledge is applied in practice and gain a realistic picture of the study pathways for each major.
The Open Day series offers a comprehensive experiential journey where students explore academic programs, access the latest technologies, and meet experts across various fields. Held monthly from November 2025 to April 2026 at all five FPT University campuses, each stop is uniquely designed to reflect the cultural identity and training strengths of its respective region.
Notably, on January 18, 2026, FPTU will officially host Big Open Day 2026 – Design Your Global Pathway, the largest experiential event of the year, taking place simultaneously in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, and Can Tho. Beyond providing program information, the event offers students opportunities to step into modern technology spaces and interact directly with experts, current students, and alumni. With a strong internationalization orientation, Big Open Day 2026 promises to deliver a global perspective, inspire young people, and open pathways for them to shape their own futures.
