The FPT University’s opening ceremony of the new academic year 2021 – 2022 has attracted the participation of 7,000 new students, nearly 20,000 online views and more than 2,000 shares from the university’s students, lectures and staff.
Accordingly, the event began with traditional ceremonies, notably with an online flag-raising ceremony, with the attendance of thousands of FPT University staff, lecturers and students. To welcome the memorable milestone of K17 new students at Hoa Lac campus, the opening ceremony was connected by FPT University with many bridge broadcasts and various guests, collapsing the physical distance during the social distance due to Covid-19 pandemic.
In this solemn ceremony, FPT Chairman – Mr.Truong Gia Binh gave an impressive speech with meaningful wishes for the new students. According to him, FPT University is a great school, which brings to young people the experience of success. The connection of FPT University with international organizations is a great opportunity for students to step out into the world.
Especially, students of K17 academic year are the first to have access to a new learning method called EduNext – a product created by FPT itself. According to Mr .Binh, EduNext is the ‘brainchild’ of the leading staff, lecturers and technology experts at FPT. This tool is a revolution in learning orientation, based on a very important doctrine in education called ‘Constructivism’ – Social Construction.
Mr. Binh affirmed that if before, students used to be in the “must learn” status, now, it will be “want to learn” with EduNext. He has high expectations for this new method and wishes all K17 students to have successful experiences at FPT University.
Also at the ceremony, the Rector of FPT University – Mr. Nguyen Khac Thanh gave a message to the new students: “The person who lives a long time is not necessarily someone who has many years of existence in the world, but someone who has a lot of experience”. Mr. Thanh hopes that the next 4-year journey at FPT University will bring memorable experiences to these young people. In particular, these experiences will be the perfect ‘launcher’ to help FPT students achieve more success in the future.
Beside, in the opening ceremony there were various dynamic performances, such as welcome gifts from school staff, alumni and seniors to new students. The virtual event ended with a choir performance of all students, staff and lecturers in the ‘traditional’ song “FPT dong song loi the” (FPT – the river of oaths).
Right after the ceremony, new students of K17 will join in a very interesting orientation week with activities following ‘do differently to do well’ – the principles that FPT University has been building for the past 15 years.
