“For the whole year, only enjoying the occasion of Tet is to experience all the fun things”
Peter Temiloluwa is a student from FPT University Danang who is famous for his photo of playing a traditional musical instrument in a traditional Vietnamese red “Ao Dai”. He is known as one of the active international students in school activities. Especially, he is also an enthusiast of learning Vietnamese culture.
The very “Vietnamese” moment of the Nigerian student.
“I’ve only experienced one Tet season, Tet 2020. I like Tet so much because I not only get a holiday but also get lucky money,” Peter excitedly told about his first Vietnamese Tet experience. Peter was invited by friends from Vietnam to visit their homeland during Tet. Wherever he goes, he must say “wow” because of unique costumes, delicious food, the people are friendly and give him lucky money. “If someone asks me if there is anything that makes me not like Vietnamese Tet, I don’t know how to answer because I like Tet too much. For the whole year, only enjoying Tet is to experience all the fun things”.
“Just walking around and breathing is enough to see Tet is coming”
Born and raised in the Kingdom of Laos, Thatsadaphone Inthapakdy is particularly interested in different New Year’s activities from other cultures. Celebrating two “Tet” in Vietnam, Thatsadaphone is still excited about the coming the 3rd one.
“I’ve already had 2 “Tet” in Vietnam, and I really love the Tet atmosphere. I love Vietnamese culture. Tet is a rare opportunity to see the unique cultural features of this country,” Thatsadaphone shared. “In the days near Tet, just walking around and breathing is enough to see the Tet coming with red peach flowers, yellow apricots, people freely shopping for Tet”. Thatsadaphone always carries with him a camera or phone so he can capture those moments and show off to his family about Tet in Vietnam.
The Lao friend also expressed pride in his nation’s unique Tet greeting: “I would also like to invite my Vietnamese friends to Laos on the occasion of the new year and together… splash water to welcome New Year. It will definitely be an unforgettable experience for you, like my Vietnamese Tet experience”.
So, not only Vietnamese students are interested in the Lunar New Year, but international students from different cultures are also very immersed to experience Tet. Hope all the international students will have many more beautiful memories and interesting stories to tell in the coming New Year.
