FPTU’s direct involvement and input in formulating SDG policy development alongside international partners

FPTU participates in SDG policy-making with the United Nations and partners

At FPTU, sustainable development is not something that stays inside textbooks. Our lecturers are literally taking seats at the tables that matter, where policies are discussed together with the United Nations, UN Women, and Vietnam’s leading professional networks. For every student, that means what you learn today is being carried by your own university into the country’s big conversations on gender equality, education, and a safer digital space for everyone.

Identifying problems and challenges: digital safety for women and children

On 5 December 2025, at the Green One UN House, Ms. Nguyen Ha Thanh, representing FPTU, spoke at a dialogue session titled ‘Multi-dimensional Technology Dialogue: Working together to build a safer digital space for women and children’, organised by UN Women and the UN Gender Thematic Group. There, our university and fellow experts openly discussed the real risks women and children face online. It may sound far away, but this is exactly how every good policy begins: you have to identify the problem first.

Developing policies and strategies: cooperation with UN Women and international partners

And our university does not stop at “talking”. On 21 March 2026, right at FSchools Open STEM Day 2026 in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, FPT Education and UN Women in Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement to open more STEM opportunities for girls, empowering women to step confidently into the digital era and stay protected online. The UN Women Country Representative even shared, at the event, on the theme “STEM Education and Gender Equality in a New Era”. It is a clear promise: girls absolutely can shine in technology.

The story of cooperation also reaches out to the world. In April 2026, during the state visit led by General Secretary and President To Lam, FPT University’s leadership travelled to China and signed cooperation agreements with two leading universities in Beijing in the areas of training, science and technology, and innovation. These agreements open more opportunities for international learning and experience for FPTU students themselves.

Monitoring, reporting and adaptive management: standardising school-psychology policy

There is something very close to students’ hearts: mental health. Ms. Nguyen Ha Thanh, representing FPT University, currently serves as Vice President of the Vietnam Network of School Psychologists. On 10 July 2025, when the network was launched in the Southern region of Vietnam, in Ho Chi Minh City, the partners signed a five-year strategic cooperation agreement and released the handbook “Supporting School Mental Health”, the first publication in Vietnam to systematically compile policies on school psychology. In other words, our university is helping build “emotional anchors” so that schools become safer, friendlier, and happier places to learn.

FPTU’s long-term commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

From dialogue at the United Nations, to cooperation with UN Women and international partners, to a leading role in a national professional network, FPT University is actively contributing to policy discussions that support a sustainable future. Most importantly, every student is part of this journey. To learn, to create, to be kind. That, too, is how we lend a hand to the Sustainable Development Goals.
