Three pathways, one shared goal: sustainable development
Sustainable development is nobody’s job alone. Alongside cooperation with government and international universities, FPT University also regards non-governmental organisations (NGOs), social organisations and international bodies as close companions. Exactly in the spirit of the sustainability criterion, this collaboration runs along three complementary pathways: volunteering, research and education. Across all three, the university has concrete, documented evidence — with real dates, venues and people.
Volunteering for the SDGs: FPTU youth acting for climate and community
FPTU’s volunteering spirit shows most clearly through its companionship with youth-for-climate networks. In 2026, FPT University Da Nang was invited to partner and accompany LCOY Vietnam 2026 — the Vietnam Local Conference of Youth on climate, organised by the Youth Climate Action Network (YNet). This is a national youth climate conference (held on 13 Sep 2026 in Da Nang), creating space for young people to discuss and build climate policy recommendations that represent Vietnamese youth’s voice in regional and international climate processes. By accompanying a youth-for-climate network, the university takes practical action towards SDG 13 (Climate Action).

In the same spirit, FPT University was invited as the Host Institution for the ASEAN Youth Sustainability Forum (AYSF) 2026 — a regional youth forum organised by the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO), supported by Oxfam, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the European Union (EU). Scheduled in Hanoi on 24–26 Sep 2026 under the theme ‘Climate Justice: Bridging Inequality and Advancing Inclusive Climate Action’, it brings together youth delegates, policymakers and sustainability practitioners from across ASEAN. That AYO and Oxfam chose FPTU for its ‘proven experience in hosting major international conferences and its recognised standing in sustainability’ is a proud recognition (SDG 13, 10, 17).
Research for the SDGs: developing technology for inclusive education
Collaboration with organisations serving vulnerable groups also brings FPTU students into genuine research and development. In the Imago capstone project (defended at the Capstone Project Defense in December 2024), a team of FPTU students researched and developed software along with a 40-week technology curriculum, built to the international ISTE standards, dedicated to an education organisation serving young people with autism, intellectual disabilities and Down syndrome. The programme runs from basic skills (getting familiar with computers, typing) to advanced digital literacy (online safety, vocational skills), helping vulnerable youth integrate better into the digital society.

This is applied research tied to social responsibility: students’ technological knowledge and skills are turned into a real product serving the community, embodying the ‘leave no one behind’ spirit of SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Education for the SDGs: opening global opportunities and building a safe environment
Education is where FPTU has the deepest evidence. On 2 April 2024, the university signed an MoU (No. FHCMC/180324/) with AIESEC Vietnam Social Enterprise LLC — the Vietnamese entity of AIESEC, the world’s largest non-profit youth organisation, present in over 100 countries. Its focus is the ‘Global Talent’ programme, sending students on internships in many countries for 10–78 weeks — a form of cross-border experiential education (SDG 4, 8, 17).
In parallel, the university emphasises education that strengthens the capacity to protect people. On 17 July 2025, at the United Nations building (304 Kim Ma, Hanoi), representatives of FPT University’s International Cooperation Board attended training on preventing and responding to sexual misconduct, organised by the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Vietnam (at UN Women’s invitation). Together with the Imago capstone bringing technology to learners with disabilities, these activities form a comprehensive education picture: quality, safety and inclusion (SDG 4, 5, 10, 16).

FPTU’s commitment: walking with NGOs across all three branches for the SDGs: Volunteering, Research and Education
From a youth climate conference, a regional sustainability forum and a technology project for vulnerable people, to a global internship network and the United Nations’ safeguarding programme — FPT University demonstrates substantive collaboration with NGOs and social organisations across all three branches: volunteering, research and education. Above all, every collaboration returns to a familiar destination: opening opportunities, spreading kindness and a sustainable future for its students and the community alike.
