FPTU proactively initiates and joins cross-sectoral dialogue for the SDGs
Here is something fun about FPTU: the university doesn’t only teach in classrooms — it regularly shows up where people gather to discuss big things: conferences, forums and programmes involving government, embassies and international organisations. For our students, that’s great news: our university is part of the conversations shaping the future, and we’re inspired to become people who listen and connect.
Starting close to home: empowering young people
Since the summer of 2023 (from 1 to 6 August in Hanoi), FPTU has participated in the Youth Empowerment Camp, an annual programme funded by the US Embassy in Hanoi. Over 50 high-school students from Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, and Thai Nguyen provinces developed the skills needed to become active and socially responsible citizens. This is how cross-sectoral dialogue begins: by connecting educational institutions, a diplomatic mission, and young people from different regions.

Since then, FPT University has held themed camps every summer. In the summer of 2025, the university organised two camps:
- July Camp: Leadership and Economic Empowerment (13-22 July 2025), with 43 participants.
- August Camp: Global Sustainability, Local Creativities (17-26 August 2025), with 20 participants.
Participating in national forums and international cooperation on education
On 26 May 2026, at the Vietnam–France Leaders Forum in Hanoi, held during French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit, FPT Education signed a Letter of Intent with Odyssey Education (France) to bring high-quality French educational programmes to Vietnam. The forum brought together businesses and agencies from both countries across a wide range of sectors, including aerospace, finance, energy, healthcare, and education. FPT’s participation demonstrates its engagement in national-level dialogue, where education forms part of a broader story of international cooperation.

Beyond that, on 15 June 2026, FPTU participated in the exchange of Vietnam–Thailand cooperation documents at the Government Office in Hanoi, further demonstrating the university’s engagement in significant national-level cooperation and diplomatic activities.

Joining the UN and partners for what is right
FPT University is also in the process of engaging with the Women’s Empowerment Principles, a set of principles established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact in 2010.
In addition, as part of the Vietnam–UK anti-human-trafficking capacity-building project (VULETT), supported by the British Embassy, 35 immigration management officers participated in a training programme in Hanoi on 10 September 2025 on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in their professional work. These activities demonstrate that cross-sectoral dialogue goes beyond discussion and translates into practical skills and capacity building for the wider community.

In the academic arena, FPT University contributed to the national scientific conference “Science, Technology and Innovation in the Digital Era”, held at the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House on 18 December 2025, bringing academic expertise into policy discussions on digital transformation.
Open dialogue: Students as future connectors
From summer camps for students from highland provinces to national forums and cooperation with UN Women and the US, UK, and French embassies, FPT University shows a readiness to ‘sit down and talk it out’ for the Sustainable Development Goals. And every student, learning to listen and connect today, is practising to become tomorrow’s dialogue-builder.
