FPTU learns from and benchmarks against the world’s best standards
To tackle major issues such as quality education or sustainable development, no university can go it alone. International experience shows that the most successful education models are built on mutual learning, on benchmarking approaches across education systems, and on continuously adapting to global best practice. FPT University embraces this spirit. Rather than confining itself within a domestic framework, the university proactively reaches out to reputable academic partners worldwide to research, compare and distil the very best for Vietnamese learners.
This approach is tied directly to two Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 — Quality Education, and SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals. An internationally accredited degree, an advanced teaching method, or a joint cross-border research direction are all concrete ‘building blocks’ for raising the quality of human resources — a decisive factor in any nation’s sustainable development. For FPTU students, this is very practical: study in Vietnam, yet access and reach world standards.
Partnering with Kyungpook National University: bringing Korean academic standards to Vietnam
On 5 March 2026, FPT Corporation officially announced its partnership with Kyungpook National University (KNU) — one of Korea’s leading national universities — with Korea’s Minister of Education in attendance.

Kyungpook National University has been ranked 3rd in the world in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. Kyungpook National University ranked within the global top 20 in 6 of the 17 SDG categories, including:
2nd in Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
12th in Zero Hunger (SDG 2)
13th in Life on Land (SDG 15)
16th in Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17)
16th in No Poverty (SDG 1)
20th in Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)

From 2026, the KNU Vietnam programme trains two key fields, Technology and Business, transferring Korea’s full academic standards and awarding official KNU bachelor degrees. Students also receive tuition support for the first five years, short-term exchange opportunities in Korea, and connections to a network of 100+ partner companies.
What matters is not only the degree, but an entire ‘standard system’ being transferred: the curriculum, modern technology-enabled teaching methods, and the way student business experience is organised. When an international programme sits alongside a domestic one, the university can benchmark directly — identifying strengths to learn from and practices to localise for Vietnamese students. This is precisely the process of ‘reviewing comparative approaches’ that the SDG criterion targets. That KNU chose Vietnam as an international destination, witnessed by Korea’s Minister of Education, also reflects the credibility and integration capacity of the FPT education ecosystem.
Connecting with the University of Arizona-US: expanding research and academic exchange
Beyond Asia, FPTU also joins hands with the USA. On 11 May 2026, FPT University and the University of Arizona held a working session to discuss student exchange, faculty exchange, joint research and student internships. Such exchanges help FPTU’s lecturers and students access the research approaches and advanced teaching methods of a major US university — and together find better ways to address shared challenges.

While the KNU partnership leans toward transferring training standards, the working session with the University of Arizona opens another equally important dimension: joint research and two-way academic mobility. Faculty exchange helps the university’s staff update pedagogical thinking and new research directions; student exchange and internships give learners genuine global experience; and joint research is where both sides can pose questions and seek answers to issues that matter to both Vietnam and the world — from technology and data to sustainable development. It is within such collaborative projects that best practices are formed, tested and disseminated.
Bringing best practice to Vietnamese learners — for the Sustainable Development Goals
From Korea to the USA, every international handshake by FPT University aims at one thing: learn the world’s best, benchmark against international standards, then bring it home to serve domestic learners. That is the spirit of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). And every FPTU student, learning in an international environment right at home, becomes part of a global knowledge network.
