According to him, one of the hardest parts of convincing schools to award scholarships is to clearly demonstrate one’s research orientation. However, this is also an advantage for the male student as he participated in many scientific research projects when he was a student.
Hong Quan came into contact with scientific research by chance because “a friend invited him” and mainly participated in data analysis in the beginning. In the 8th semester at FPT University Hanoi, he began to have the motivation to learn about methods and ways to conduct scientific research when studying Research Methods in Business.
“With the support and guidance of the lecturers, I started to participate in a few small projects in class, then research projects with teachers”, Quan shared.
The former student of FPT University said that the path of scientific research has many challenges, sometimes feeling “easily lost” among many documents, methods, implementation methods… Quan’s secret is to maintain a spirit of eagerness to learn and find ways to overcome difficulties. He also shared how to communicate and work effectively based on support and sharing between lecturers and students to make work more convenient. Hong Quan has four scientific articles published in international journals Mathematics; Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity and Heliyon as a co-author. He also participated in three scientific conferences in Thailand and Malaysia in the past two years. In addition, Quan and his team participated in the student scientific research competition organized by the school.
