Teams from FPT University have outperformed nearly 2,000 competitors, placing the university at the top among private institutions.
The four FPT University teams winning awards in this year’s ICPC regional round include FPTU HN New Era (1st Place in the Northern Region), FPTU HN Old Era (2nd Place in the Northern Region), and FPTU HCM Dolphin and FPTU HCM Broken Heart (both securing 2nd Place in the Southern Region).
The ICPC, an esteemed programming contest with over 50 years of history, is often referred to as the “Olympics” for IT students. The National ICPC will select the top 100 university teams to compete further in the Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad and the ICPC Asia Hanoi, hosted by Hanoi University of Industry from December 10 to 13, 2024.
Vietnam joined the ICPC for the first time in 2005. Since then, Vietnamese teams have consistently ranked among the top 100-140 universities advancing to the ICPC global finals. In 2024, young Vietnamese participants are once again expected to achieve impressive results at this prestigious competition.
Discussing their preparation journey for ICPC 2024, an FPT University representative shared that the teams have honed their knowledge and skills through coursework, project involvement, and participation in programming contests and research activities. Many of these are organized by FPT Education, such as the FPT Edu Hackathon and FPT Edu Research Festival. Additionally, with mentorship support, students actively review past contest questions, engage in self-study online, and draw insights from former contestants.
