PART 1: ADMISSION CONDITIONS

1. I want to study at FPT University. Can you tell me what the admission requirements are?
In 2024, FPT University is recruiting for the following majors: Information Technology (Software Engineering; Information System; Artificial Intelligence; Information Assurance; Digital Art & Design. Automotive Technology; Semiconductor Chip Design), Business Administration (Digital Marketing; International Business; Hotel Management; Logistics & Supply Chain Management Global Response; Tourism and Travel Management; Multimedia Communication; Finance); Communication Technology (Multimedia Communication, Public Relations), English Language, Japanese Language, Korean Language, and Chinese Language.

Candidates are eligible to apply for admission to FPT University if they meet the criteria for direct admission according to the university’s 2024 full-time undergraduate enrollment regulations and rank among the top 50 according to the 2024 NHSGE scores (certified on http://SchoolRank.fpt.edu.vn).

Additionally, candidates can apply based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam with a combination of Math and two other subjects. The specific admission score will be announced after the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam are released.

2. What documents are required for applying to FPT University? When is the application period?
Application documents include:

Registration documents include:

– Registration form;

– Photocopy/scan of ID card/passport;

– A photocopy/scanned copy of the high school transcript (for the application according to the results of the high school’s GPA) or the certificate of the 2024 NHSGE results (for the application according to the 2024 NHSGE results);

– Certificate of ranking in 2024 according to high school transcripts/ NHSGE results on http://SchoolRank.fpt.edu.vn;

– Photocopies/scans of other documents certifying registration conditions (if any).

– Admission fee: VND 200,000.

The application of registration is only valid when FPT University has received all documents and the registration fee in accordance with regulations.

3. I am currently studying at a foreign university and would like to transfer to FPT University. Am I eligible to transfer?

4. Does the university admit international students?
The university has been admitting international students since 2013. To date, hundreds of international students have enrolled in long-term or short-term programs and exchange programs. International students in the Information Technology and Business Administration majors at FPT University will study with a curriculum and training content identical to that for Vietnamese students.

The presence of students from various countries enhances English communication skills, life skills, and interaction in an international environment for students studying at the university, preparing them for work in a global integration phase.

PART 2: TRAINING PROGRAM

1. Why does the full-time undergraduate program at FPT University last only 3 years?
Because we do not have summer breaks and apply a training schedule of 3 semesters per year, you can complete 9 specialized semesters in just 3 years. In other words, at FPT University, if you qualify for an English exemption, you only need 3 years to complete your undergraduate program. You also do not need to worry about the class schedule, as there will be 2 weeks off between semesters.

This training schedule not only helps shorten your study time but also familiarizes you with a full-time work schedule, allowing you to integrate into a professional working environment in companies after graduation.

2. I understand that students at FPT University will start their internships in their third year. What will students do during their internship? Why is this internship phase not held in the final year like at other universities?
The university arranges the internship phase starting in the third year to help students gain a real perspective on their future job and work environment during their studies. This way, you can better prepare the knowledge and skills you still lack. It also helps you identify your strengths when choosing a specialized field and clarify your future career path.

Specifically, FPT University students, after completing their second year with foundational knowledge and language skills, will participate in an internship lasting 4-8 months at various companies. During this time, students will engage with “real people, real work,” apply the theories they have learned, and directly participate in projects of different scales to gain experience and learn. Depending on the project and level of participation, students may receive allowances or scholarships. After the internship, students will return to the university to supplement management knowledge and in-depth content. By this time, students will have experience and will not be unfamiliar when working in large domestic and international companies. This is one of the strengths that gives FPT University students an advantage in the global integration phase.

3. I understand that students at FPT University can participate in the “Study Abroad Semester” program. What are the requirements to participate in this program?
The university offers numerous activities for FPT University students to have the opportunity to go abroad, including student exchange programs, Japanese language study programs in Japan, English language study abroad programs, as well as internships, workshops, conferences, and other international collaboration activities.

Currently, FPT University is partnering with 200 partners, including universities and companies from over 35 countries worldwide, and continues to expand, welcoming hundreds of international students each year. Through study exchange programs, cultural exchanges, internships, etc., students have opportunities to travel to many countries around the world each year.

PART 3: ENGLISH PREPARATION

1. How long does the English preparation program at the university last?
The program consists of 6 levels, with each level lasting 2 months. When you apply for admission to FPT University, you will take an English placement test to determine the most suitable class for you. Depending on the placement test results, your English study duration will range from 2 months to a year.

2. How many students are there in each class?
Each class at FPT University has an average of 15-30 students. Instructors will know all students in the class and understand each student’s proficiency level to provide timely assistance.

3. If I have an IELTS or TOEFL certificate, am I exempt from the university’s English preparation program?
The purpose of the English preparation program is to equip students with English skills sufficient to pursue their specialized semesters. If you have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 or a TOEFL iBT score of 80 or the equivalent, valid at the time of enrollment, you will be exempt from the English preparation program and can enter directly into the specialized semester from the first year. Thus, you will graduate sooner and enter the workforce.

4. If I am enrolled in the English preparation program and receive a conscription notice, am I exempt from service?
This is a preparatory program, not purely an English course. Therefore, if you wish to postpone military service to continue studying at FPT University, we can provide you with the necessary certification documents to submit to local authorities.

PART 4: OTHER QUESTIONS

1. Who established FPT University?
FPT University was established by FPT Corporation and was officially allowed to be established by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung under Decision No. 208/2006/QD-TTG dated September 8, 2006. The university operates according to the Education Law and University Regulations.

2. Who issues the degrees from FPT University? How do they differ from degrees from other universities?
