More than 45000 foreign students study in Vietnam between 2016 and 2021
The number of foreign students coming to Vietnam to study abroad is rising steadily after it took educational institutions a while to adapt their teaching strategies in response to the post-Covid-19 pandemic situation and to raise the quality of education, particularly training programs in line with international standards.
According to a report by the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Education and Training), in the 2016-2021 period, Vietnam had more than 45,000 international students from 102 countries and territories coming to Vietnam to study abroad and research at 155 educational institutions. Of which, 26.6% are international students covered by the Agreement, while the remainder (73,4%) are not.
In addition to the market share of nations in Southeast Asia, Asia (Korea, Japan, China), the number of foreign students from Europe and South America choosing Vietnam as their studying journey grew significantly as well.
Besides public universities, the number of overseas participants who have come to Vietnam to experience private universities such as FPT University Vietnam increased sharply over the past time.
