Keeping pace with global transitions and the accelerating demands of the digital economy, FPT University (FPTU) continues to expand its academic offerings with new forward-looking majors.
At present, the university offers 24 key majors across fields such as information technology, communication technology, law, business administration, and languages.
All academic programs currently apply the AI First model – integrating technology, data, and AI tools right from the first year, turning artificial intelligence into a “learning companion” in both study and professional practice.
In addition, students are required to complete an internship semester at one of hundreds of FPTU’s domestic and international partner enterprises, gaining valuable real-world experience before entering the job market.
The university’s practice-based training model and creative learning environment have helped 98% of students secure employment after graduation, with 19% working in developed countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Canada.
Recently, FPTU ranked 80th globally in the category of Decent Work and Economic Growth, and remained in the 101–200 group for Quality Education, according to the prestigious THE Impact Rankings 2025 released by Times Higher Education.
Digital transformation
Starting in 2025, FPTU has begun offering a major in digital transformation to develop strategic-level professionals who not only understand technology, but are also capable of organizing, integrating digital solutions, and leading transformation across businesses, organizations, and communities.
After graduation, students can take on roles such as digital transformation specialist, technology project manager, data analyst, UI/UX consultant, or digital transformation consultant at corporations, government agencies, and tech startups.
Logistics and supply chain management
According to the 2024 report by the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), the logistics sector in Vietnam is growing at a rate of 14–16% annually, with a market size of approximately USD 40–42 billion per year. Meanwhile, the current workforce meets only about 40% of actual demand.
FPTU launched its logistics and supply chain management major in 2024, aiming to train a new generation of professionals with deep operational knowledge and a global strategic mindset.
The program enables students to fully understand and master the logistics process, from warehouse management, transportation, and order processing to distribution. At the same time, students learn to apply modern technologies such as AI, blockchain, and IoT to optimize operations.
Graduates may take on roles such as logistics officer, supply chain coordinator, warehouse and transportation manager, inventory planner, or operations manager at manufacturing firms and e-commerce enterprises.
Economic law and international trade law
In the context of digital economics and deepening international integration, the demand for high-level legal professionals with strong adaptability is becoming increasingly urgent.
FPTU has introduced law as a new field of study with the goal of training legal graduates who possess critical thinking skills and can practice in digital environments, equipped with knowledge aligned with global standards.
New majors in business administration
As the finance–banking sector undergoes rapid digital transformation, the need for tech-savvy professionals with domain expertise is growing fast.
To meet this demand, the university has developed four new majors under business administration: financial technology, investment finance, corporate finance, and digital banking and finance.
The curriculum is application-oriented, equipping students with foundational knowledge in financial management along with in-depth insights into capital markets, risk management, blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence in the context of digital finance and banking.
Graduates can pursue careers as investment analysts, digital financial security officers, stock brokers, among others.
These new majors are all aligned with fields experiencing rapid growth, high levels of globalization, and foundational importance in the modern economy.
By expanding training in these areas, FPTU not only addresses the shortage of high-quality human resources but also strengthens its students’ competitive advantage in the global job market.
