Kick-off of FPTU SecAthon 2025: An advanced playground for students to unlock their cybersecurity potential

FPTU SecAthon 2025, an in-depth cybersecurity competition organized by FPT University, has officially kicked off—offering a platform for students to showcase their skills, explore their potential, and sharpen their capabilities in the field of cybersecurity.

FPTU SecAthon is an annual information security competition hosted by FPT University. This year, the contest welcomes students from universities, colleges, and academies nationwide, providing a valuable opportunity to compete, demonstrate talent, and gain hands-on experience. With total prizes worth nearly 40 million VND, FPTU SecAthon 2025 is not only a competitive arena but also a chance to learn, connect, and enhance practical skills in cybersecurity.

The competition follows the CTF Jeopardy (Capture The Flag) format—a popular style within the global cybersecurity community—featuring challenges across six key areas: Cryptography, Reverse Engineering, Web Exploitation, Forensics, Binary Exploitation, and Miscellaneous. Teams will compete in a knockout format, with each team consisting of 3 to 4 members. For individual registrants, the Organizing Committee will randomly assign teams to promote collaboration and foster networking among students from diverse educational institutions.

Participants must register with the Student Affairs Office of FPT University by June 29. The final round of FPTU SecAthon 2025 is expected to take place on July 27, simultaneously across five campuses of FPT University: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, and Can Tho.

With highly practical challenges and broad participation from the nationwide IT student community, FPTU SecAthon 2025 promises to be a remarkable highlight in this year’s academic activities at FPT University.
