Opening ceremony for Japanese Bridge Software Engineer internship program – Semester Summer 2024

On May 9, 2024, the opening ceremony for the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program for students in the Japanese Bridge Software Engineer (JS)—Japanese in Native Workplace Summer 2024 semester took place at FPT Japanese Academy (FJA) in Tokyo, Japan.

The ceremony was attended by Professor Kuroda Hideo, the principal, and a faculty member from FJA. Representing FPT University were Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Director of FPT Edu Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Bui Van Phu, Head of International Cooperation Department at FPT University Hanoi, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, International Cooperation Officer at FPT University Ho Chi Minh City campus.

Following the opening ceremony, 36 JS students will begin their three-month OJT, consisting of 200 hours of study and 336 hours of cultural experience and workplace orientation in Japan. This is the seventh cohort of students participating in the program since its inception in 2019. Dressed formally in suits, the students conducted the opening ceremony just like true Japanese students.

The specialized JS OJT program offers FPT University students an opportunity to enhance their Japanese language skills while gaining practical experience at Japanese companies.

Applying the On-the-Job Training model in businesses, all third-year students are required to undergo internships lasting from 4 to 8 months at FPT Corporation’s member companies and partners. Based on the cooperation agreements between FPT University and partner companies, students will participate in projects to gain practical experience. This is a significant competitive advantage for FPT University students in today’s job market.

FPT Japan Academy (FPT Academy) was established with the mission of accompanying young Vietnamese in their quest to achieve their Japanese dreams. The school trains proficient Japanese speakers who, upon graduation, have the opportunity to pursue further studies or work immediately at Japanese companies.
