In September 2024, students from FPT University will participate in the ASEAN Student Competition on Information Security 2024. This prestigious event gathers the most talented young individuals in the field of information security from across Southeast Asia, offering prizes totaling over 200 million Vietnamese dong.
This will be the 7th time that FPT University participates in this competition, aiming to learn, exchange knowledge, and compete with other universities both domestic and international. Notably, in this registration round, the university’s team will be expanded to include students from all IT majors within the university.
Recently, the university organized the FPT Uni SecAthon 2024 event, a deep-dive competition on information security knowledge, jointly organized by the Student Affairs Office and the Information Security Department to select and prepare talented individuals for this competition.

Pham Viet thang, a 17th cohort student specializing in Digital Marketing at FPT University and a member of 0day.today team, representing FPTU in the SVATTT ASEAN 2024 competition, shared, “For all students majoring in Information Security, I believe everyone wishes to participate in SVATTT ASEAN at least once in their lifetime. It’s where all the young talents in the under-26 cybersecurity field gather, not only from Vietnam but also from ASEAN countries. It’s an opportunity to exchange, compete, and learn from such talented individuals, exposing ourselves to the highest skills and techniques in the field of Information Security. Additionally, achieving within the top 4 positions in the preliminary round of the top 20 provides a chance to participate in two major competitions likened to the World Cup of the cybersecurity industry.”
In 2024, it marks the 17th year of the ASEAN Student Competition on Information Security held in Vietnam and the sixth year the competition has expanded its influence to ASEAN countries. The competition aims to promote and enhance the research, learning, and exchange of experience in the field of Information Security.
