The ‘Warm’ Project – Emily in FPT provides meals to underprivileged children

With efforts to bring a better life to the children in remote areas, six girls from FPT University in Hanoi initiated the ‘Warm – Emily in FPT’ project, delivering gifts directly to the hands of children at Thuong Cuu B Primary School (Phu Tho).

‘Warm’ – Emily in FPT is a journey to remote areas to provide additional meals, milk, and opportunities for a better life for impoverished children. During their recent trip, Emily in FPT visited Phu Tho, specifically Thượng Cửu Primary School (in Sinh Tan village, Thuong Cuu commune, Thanh Son district, Phu Tho province).

According to Ms. Cam Thuy, the principal of the school, “Three years ago, at that time, Sinh Tan village only had dirt roads, and it’s only been in the past year that electricity and telecommunication networks have reached here. All the students here are from the Dao ethnic minority. The project donated 45 bicycles to elementary school students

The journey to school for these children is extremely challenging, and accessing knowledge beyond their immediate surroundings seems like a distant dream. For a long time, meals consisting only of plain rice and a few types of mountainous vegetables, or long walks to school in thin clothing that doesn’t provide enough warmth in the cold weather, have become familiar images associated with the lives of children in highland areas.

Understanding these difficulties and shortages, the volunteer group Emily in FPT initiated the ‘Warm’ project. Serving as a bridge, the group helped kind-hearted individuals reach out to children in remote areas. “The biggest wish of the organizing team is to raise funds to support the project, attract attention, and garner support from the community. Through this, we aim to enhance awareness of compassion, love, and enlightenment for the younger generation,” shared team leader Hà Triệu Khánh Vy.

The project’s representatives stated their determination to prepare nutritious meals and provide water filtration systems, with the hope that the children can enjoy the most complete meals and drink the purest water possible. Only then can they focus on their studies and develop comprehensively for the future.

After approximately 3 months of fundraising efforts from generous donors, the project has received donations totaling over 102 million Vietnamese dong and numerous items. The group has donated 45 bicycles to elementary school students and meticulously equipped 31 kits for preschool children. These kits contain essential tools to help children prepare for their journey ahead. Moreover, the project also distributed gift bags containing boxed candies, milk, and 80 hats.

Each gift bag and hat carries deep meaning, conveying messages of love and joy from compassionate hearts. Thanks to the collective voice of the community and, especially, the efforts of all the young students at FPT University in Hanoi, the ‘Warm’ project – Emily in FPT is gradually making a powerful impact within the community.
