Chapter I: General principle
FPT University complies with the Vietnamese legal system.
FPT University’s Sustainability Development Policy is based on FPT Corporation’s Sustainable Development Policy and FPT Education’s Policy, a direct subsidiary of FPT Corporation.
Article 1: Sustainability literacy
To develop sustainability literacy so that employees and students are empowered, engaged, and committed global citizens and can use this knowledge and experience to make informed and responsible decisions.

To make a strong commitment to sustainability as part of our student actions and behaviors by ensuring students have the opportunity to develop an understanding of eco-social issues and have integrated experience of theory and practice in their learning and extracurricular activities.

Article 6: Sustainable and responsible consumption and production

Article 7: Ending Discrimination in the Workplace
7 A) FPT University is committed to providing an equitable, inclusive, and respectful workplace that is free from discrimination of any kind
This principle is affirmed in the FPT Education Code of Conduct (updated 2024) and the Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination Policy which apply to all staff, faculty, and contractors.
Key commitments include:
- Zero tolerance for discrimination based on gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, or belief.
- Transparent and merit-based recruitment and promotion processes.
- Annual diversity and inclusion training for staff and managers.
- A confidential reporting system through the Human Resources Office and iNghe feedback platform, ensuring safe, fair, and non-retaliatory complaint handling.

FPT University maintains a strict institutional policy prohibiting all forms of forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labour across its operations and supply chain.
Outlined in the FPT Education Human Rights Policy and the FPT Education Code of Conduct, the University commits to:
- Adherence to the Vietnam Labour Code (2019) and the ILO Fundamental Conventions.
- Prohibition of any work performed under coercion, threat, or without free consent.
- No employment of individuals under the legal working age.
- Mandatory supplier compliance with the FPT Education Supplier Code of Conduct (Decision No.1562/QD FPTU-2017) ensuring ethical labour practices.

- Regular surveys from businesses to evaluate the university’s training programs and student skills:
The survey results show that the satisfaction level regarding general knowledge is over 80%. Additionally, four of their skills were rated highest by employers: professionalism, communication skills, teamwork skills, and adaptability to the work environment. However, employers also suggested the need to add problem-solving skills, and they recommended that the training program provide clearer direction in terms of specialization. - FPT University has developed and issued procedures titled “Partnership Relations Process (QT-10/HDCV/FE),” which defines the roles of stakeholders in the university’s decision-making process regarding teaching, aimed at achieving quality objectives in relationships with stakeholders.

Article 14: Integrity, Transparency, and Ethical Governance
FPT University maintains a strong institutional commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical governance.
The university’s Anti-Corruption, Anti-Bribery, and Transparency Policy is publicly available on the university website and explicitly stated in:

Article 15: Employment policy on discrimination
Scope of Application
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and candidates at all stages of employment, from recruitment and selection to termination and resignation.

We are committed to creating a workplace free from discrimination and ensuring equal employment opportunities for everyone. We are dedicated to supporting employees, fostering a diverse work environment, and ensuring that everyone is treated with respect.
Prohibition of Discrimination
Any form of discrimination based on race, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, nationality, marital status, or any other characteristics protected by law is strictly prohibited.

Article 16: Against forced labour and modern slavery
- The University is committed to frankly discussing and speaking up for human rights in the national discourses about the issue of violence against women, forced labor, modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labor.

Article 17: Guarantee equivalent rights of employee benefits even when outsourcing
- FPT University outsourcing contracts for the actual performance of tasks under a service contract are regulated by the FPT Corporation’s Regulation on Procurement and internal regulations.

Article 18: Allow working remotely
- FPT University is committed to building an inclusive, respectful, and flexible working environment for all regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability immigration status, or gender. The flexible working arrangement includes deciding between online or offline, mixed online and offline. FPTU has been designed to accommodate flexible working and learning arrangements, especially in risky situations such as during the COVID-19 pandemic, the school has been fully remote working and learning.
- All University employees may request a flexible work arrangement. All requests for a flexible work arrangement will be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure business continuity.

Article 19: Competitive and Equitable Pay Levels
- FPT University is committed to paying all staff and faculty equally based on their contribution, workload, and productivity, no matter their ethnicity, religion, disability, immigration status, or gender.
- The FPT Corporation’s salary structure has been designed on the basis of modern science and technology, periodically reviewed, and managed and evaluated by a prestigious board. This salary structure is a competitive pay level compared to other enterprises or universities at the same level in the market or society.
- Promote accessing the details of employees’ rights and/or pay on the MyFPT application. Setting up the denunciation process and implementing the system of receiving comments and complaints on their rights and/or pay (email, hotline, suggestion box).
- Measurement and evaluation methods.
Base on the average monthly earnings of wage employees by sex and industry in Statistical Yearbook of Vietnam 2024 of General Statistics Office of Vietnam – Ministry of Planning and Investment (Vietnam), the difference in average monthly earnings between males and females in the training and education sector is approximately 33.9%, whereas at FPT University, the gap is only 8.5% among staff and 18.6% among faculty members.
The annual salary policy receives feedback from staff and faculty via the Payslip tool and is approved by FPT Education Salary Council.

Article 20. Labor Rights Protection Policy
Objective of the Policy
This policy aims to ensure that all employees including women & international staff, including both full-time and outsourced employees, are fully protected under basic labor rights. The institution is committed to adhering to international labor standards and Vietnamese law, including the right to freedom of association, collective bargaining rights, and fair working conditions.
The institution acknowledges and protects the rights of labor unions that represent employees within the organization. It supports and respects the union’s right to operate freely in response to the majority interests of employees within the institution. Priority is given to addressing union recommendations regarding the protection of employees’ rights. Through the union, employees have the right to collective bargaining with management on matters related to wages, working conditions, and other benefits in a fair, transparent, and lawful manner.

Ensuring a Non-Discriminatory Work Environment
The institution’s quality assurance process is built on ISO standards, which not only ensures safety in accordance with international labor standards and current law but also specifies that:
- Employees are provided with a humane, professional work environment.

22 A) Prohibition of Smoking, Including Electronic Cigarettes, on Campus
The university strictly enforces Directive No. 56/2007/CT-BGDDT issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, which prohibits smoking in classrooms and workplaces within educational institutions.
22 B) Health and Well-being Programs Led by the Cultural department and Union Office.
The Cultural Department and Union Office is responsible for organizing programs that promote health care and mental well-being for all members of the university community, including:
- Organizing annual health check-ups for staff, lecturers, and students;
- Conducting online and offline counseling sessions on specific topics, delivered by medical and psychological experts;
- Hosting sports, cultural, and outdoor activities for staff and lecturers, as well as FSmall recreational events for their children during holidays and summer breaks;

FPT University’s Commitment to Mental Health and Workplace Well-being
FPT University regards mental health as a core component of workplace well-being and sustainable work performance.
The University has issued the FPT University Mental Health and Well-being Support Policy, ensuring that all staff have access to professional psychological support, stress management resources, and mental health programs.
The University cooperates with local health organizations, national health organizations, international health organizations, organizes activities, periodic programs to improve mental health for staff, lecturers, students. The University has psychologists on site to support students, staff, lecturers.
The University regularly conducts surveys to collect feedback from students and parents on its mental health care and enhancement services.
Psychologists collaborate with psychology faculty members to implement effective mental health care programs and projects for students.
The University also offers mindfulness practice sessions to help reduce stress and anxiety, and promote a balanced lifestyle for everyone.
Additionally, department and unit managers are trained in work management techniques designed to minimize pressure and stress in the workplace.

Article 28: Commitment to carbon-neutral university

Article 31: Provide assistance in the community with educational activities
FPT University are committed to implementing the community project ‘Introducing Vietnamese Traditional Musical Instruments to Local High School Students’ to nurture and pass on traditional values to the younger generation. Additionally, the school has established and will continue to offer traditional musical instrument classes for the community to maximize the effectiveness of these activities.

Article 32: Provide assistance in the community with charity activities
The university supports all academics to work with charities and make a huge difference in the community through their work and support. We value that activity and want to support and recognize it by providing time, information, and funds to support your volunteering activity. Chapter VIII: Learning, Teaching, and Research
Article 34: Academic freedom
34 A) Research Freedom Policy for Senior Academics
FPT University is committed to supporting academic freedom for senior faculty members (policy issued in 2019 and updated in 2024). Professors and senior lecturers are granted full autonomy to choose their research topics, research methodologies, and research collaborations in accordance with international scientific standards.
This policy guarantees:
- Freedom to conduct independent research and publish research outcomes;
- Full intellectual property rights in compliance with national laws and university regulations;
- Institutional support to present and report findings at national and international academic forums.
34 B) Research Freedom Policy for Junior Academics
FPT University applies equivalent protections for junior faculty members, including early-career lecturers, researchers, and postdoctoral scholars. The Young Researchers Support Policy ensures equal rights in choosing research directions, applying for research funding, and publishing scholarly work independently.
Junior academics are entitled to:
- Mentorship without coercion;
- Equal access to research resources and funding opportunities;
- Protection from undue interference or influence from senior faculty members;
- Freedom to explore emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
34 C) Teaching Freedom for Senior Academics
Senior faculty are granted teaching autonomy under the Teaching Autonomy Policy. They are empowered to design course content, choose pedagogical methods, introduce emerging knowledge derived from ongoing research, and encourage open academic debate within the classroom.
This teaching freedom is guaranteed provided that teaching activities:
- Comply with national education regulations;
- Uphold academic integrity;
- Promote critical thinking and student engagement.
Senior academics are also free to present publicly, participate in public debates, and share scholarly opinions within their field of expertise.
34 D) Teaching Freedom for Junior Academics
FPT University ensures that junior academics also benefit from teaching freedom within the same institutional framework. The Teaching Autonomy and Professional Development Policy stipulates that junior lecturers have the right to:
- Deliver course content based on accredited curriculum frameworks;
- Apply innovative teaching methods, including digital learning and project-based approaches;
- Express academic perspectives supported by research evidence;
- Participate in interdisciplinary teaching initiatives.
This policy also mandates mentorship and professional development to ensure quality standards while protecting academic independence and critical inquiry.
The university encourages creativity in research, teaching, and learning for both faculty and students under the motto: “Do Things Differently to Do Things Better.”
The university promotes and supports commercially oriented, practical, and entrepreneurial research.
Faculty members may apply for additional university funding for sustainability-related research projects.
35 E) Policy Impact: Academic Freedom Environment and Infrastructure
Academic departments are encouraged to engage in scholarly exchange through multiple platforms and formats. In the digital era, this includes the development of academic exchange platforms that facilitate interaction among faculty members, as well as participation in national and international scholarly networks.
Faculty members also have dedicated digital platforms to communicate with students, promptly address academic challenges, and provide guidance and support throughout the learning process.

This policy is FPT University’s commitment to integrating sustainable development principles into all educational programs, fostering a generation of graduates who can contribute to solving global challenges in line with the United Nations SDGs.

36 A) Lifelong learning access to lectures, staffs, students
FPT University are committed to creating lifelong learning opportunities, supporting career development, personal growth, and meeting the evolving needs of the training program.
FPT University are committed to continuous improvement, staying updated with employment trends, maintaining flexibility in programs and approaches, ensuring fair assessments, and protecting learners’ rights.
FPT University have provided, and will continue to provide, free accounts for over 300 Coursera MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) for alumni. This is a collection of open online resources from top universities worldwide, such as Stanford, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, with whom we have established and will maintain partnerships through Coursera.
Self-study to improve professional expertise is encouraged and made mandatory for management, staff, and faculty.
FPT University’s students and faculty members are required to participate in online learning through Coursera and Udemy, which are high-quality resource platforms from Ivy League universities in the United States.
Each student must complete 15- 20% of their specialized study content on Coursera. Each faculty and staff member must complete at least one online course of 30 hours/year to improve their professional expertise and enhance the skills needed for their work.

FPT University supports lifelong learning for its alumni and for individuals who do not pursue higher education.
The university is committed to providing inclusive and equitable access to education for the wider community beyond the campus.
To achieve this, FPT University leverages its technological advantages to provide a wide range of open educational resources and digital learning platforms as free learning facilities for the community, non-university learners, and vulnerable groups in society.
FPT University are dedicated to providing accessible programs for a wide range of learners, including people with disabilities, minority groups, and individuals from diverse backgrounds such as gender, immigration status, poverty, and hardship.
FPT University commit to providing supplementary services to help learners meet their educational requirements, including financial assistance.
FPT University are committed to designing and implementing flexible training programs in terms of time and level, suitable for a wide range of learners, including working individuals, disadvantaged groups, and people with disabilities. This includes IT and GD programs, equivalent to those offered by partners like Jekking, Aptech, Arena, etc.

Article 37: Students with work placements
- 100 percent of FPT University students must participate in On Job Training (OJT) at the enterprises for at least four months in their sixth semester. OJT is required as a mandatory course of the degree.
- To improve the quality of the OJT period, the University aims to have at least 5% of students have the opportunity to work abroad during the OJT period. The abroad OJT also equips them with internationalization and diversity to become global citizens.

Chapter IX: Biodiversity
Article 38: Plant diversity
- Planting trees near the boundary walls of a building: planting multi-layer tree species and planting tree islands as a tropical forest.
- All flat or pitched roofs are covered with dwarf trees, herbs, wildflowers, and grasses as mini Royal Gardens.
- Planting trees along the University’s fence line: Tall trees and shrubs that don’t need pruning.
- Planting trees in the schoolyard: Planting 200 perennial trees per hectare of land. Plus, planting tall and shaded trees that don’t need pruning.
- Choose drought-tolerant varieties that require little water.
