A healthy academic environment begins with integrity. At FPT University, the commitment to anti-corruption, anti-bribery and transparency is not a slogan – it is written into policy, published openly and backed by clear oversight mechanisms.
A written and published policy
The university’s principles and commitments are set out in its Anti-Corruption, Anti-Bribery and Transparency Policy – part of the FPT University Sustainable Development Policy, Chapter II, Article 14 on “Integrity, Transparency and Ethical Governance” (updated 2025) and published on the university’s official website. These principles are also stated in the Governance Handbook (issued 2020) and the Employee Handbook (issued by decision in 2021), so that every staff member and lecturer can access them.
Core commitments
- Aligned and consistent with the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC); comply with the Group’s Code of Ethics and Compliance Charter.
- Zero tolerance toward all forms of bribery, corruption, facilitation payments or conflicts of interest.
- Comply with Vietnam’s 2018 Anti-Corruption Law and the 2015 Criminal Code (amended 2017) – the legal framework that also addresses serious and organized criminal conduct.
- Mandatory reporting and whistleblowing procedures, managed by the Internal Audit and Risk Management Department.
- Annual training for staff on ethics, integrity in procurement and financial accountability.
From commitment to measurable targets
The university sets specific targets: 100% of managers trained in anti-fraud and anti-corruption practices; 100% of conflict-of-interest or fraud cases handled appropriately; and deployment of AI in financial and procurement management to control price discrepancies. In its 2024 review, key results included: strengthened training and communications to sustain a culture of integrity; consolidated structures and processes with clear rules and sanctions; and the use of AI in procurement.
Reporting and transparency channels
Staff and lecturers can give feedback or report wrongdoing through the digital platform “iNghe”, which records all honest input; and through the My FPT Next app, each employee can check monthly income and send questions to relevant units. These are FPT Group-level mechanisms that FPT University operates within, helping ensure internal voices are heard and red flags are detected early. At Group level, the FPT Annual Report 2024 identifies “Risk Management and Anti-Corruption” as a material topic.
A cultural hallmark: no Tet gifts to leaders
On 10 January 2024, FPT University issued Notice No. 19/DHFPT, formally banning gifts to leaders during the Tet holiday, in line with established ethical norms. According to university leaders, the rule has existed since the university’s founding; Notice 19 simply codified the tradition to ensure consistent communication and practice across all campuses. Despite a growing workforce, everyone in the system understands and upholds it – now continuous a hallmark of the university’s culture of integrity.
Why this matters
By publicly publishing its integrity principles and commitments – anchored in Vietnamese law, UNCAC and reporting, disciplinary and training mechanisms – FPT University helps build transparent, accountable institutions that do not tolerate corruption, in the spirit of SDGs, especially target 16.5 on substantially reducing corruption and bribery in all their forms.
