Thousands of freshmen, graduates, and alumni gathered for Convocation Day 2024 at FPT University. Featuring four key events and an array of emotional experiences, the day created unforgettable memories in a vibrant celebration of connection and growth.
Convocation Day 2024: “Carrying the Torch” for FPT Generations
The day-long festivities consisted of four major highlights: the New Student Welcoming ceremony for K20 freshmen, the Graduation and Recognition ceremony for K15–K16 graduates, the Alumni Coming Back reunion, and Club Day, a vibrant showcase of student clubs.
The main ceremony began at 7:30 AM on November 16. Huynh Tan Chau, Director of FPT Education’s Da Nang Office, expressed gratitude to all students, alumni, staff, and faculty present. He extended his best wishes to the new K20 students, encouraging them to embrace the multifaceted experiences of FPT University’s “Happy School,” and congratulated the new graduates embarking on their professional journeys.
Speaking on behalf of the K19 cohort, Nguyen Huu Toan, a Multimedia Communication major, shared heartfelt reflections:
“At this moment, I feel the expectations and trust from my family, teachers, friends, and myself more profoundly than ever. I believe, with the support of passionate and knowledgeable faculty, enthusiastic staff, and the guidance of senior students, we can achieve our upcoming goals.”
The ceremony included the symbolic pinning of frog badges for K20 freshmen, marking the start of their four-year journey of youth and vibrant experiences at FPT University.
Graduation & Recognition: Milestones of Maturity
At 8:45 AM, the Graduation and Recognition ceremony for K15–K16 graduates was held in the Beta and Gamma buildings. This event, often referred to as a “rite of passage,” signified the transformation of graduates as they prepared to contribute their knowledge and skills to society as global citizens.
Nguyen Vu Hai Anh, the valedictorian of the Digital Art and Design program (K16), shared emotional insights:
“FPT University has not only opened the door to knowledge but also provided opportunities to learn under the guidance of dedicated teachers and alongside amazing friends. Through community projects and activities, we’ve gained a deeper understanding of our responsibilities to society and ourselves. These experiences are invaluable lessons for us.”
Among the 328 graduates in 2024, FPT University’s Da Nang campus honored four valedictorians from various fields, 24 students with outstanding academic achievements, and 12 recognized for their exceptional contributions to extracurricular activities.
The image of graduates in Toga gowns, holding their diplomas with pride and joy, remains a cherished memory for teachers, friends, and families.
Convocation Day 2024: “A Homecoming for Alumni”
The Alumni reunion, a special part of Convocation Day 2024, was designed to reconnect generations of FPT University graduates. Held in the cozy Alpha Hall, alumni from cohorts K6, K7, K13, K14, and K15 gathered with faculty and staff to reminisce about their university days.
Stories of early training camps, Vovinam classes at the old campus, and shared experiences brought back nostalgic emotions for all attendees. The heartfelt moments shared by alumni and teachers created an atmosphere filled with warmth and sentiment.
This year also marked the 10th anniversary of K6’s graduation—a milestone in their journey of growth and development. Despite diverse career paths, the memories forged during their university years remain unforgettable.
Club Day: A Burst of Energy and Creativity
Adding to the day’s excitement, Club Day showcased over 20 vibrant student organizations, offering colorful booths, interactive activities, and engaging games. The lively atmosphere united students and alumni, creating lasting memories of camaraderie.
A Tradition of Connection and Celebration
Now in its second year, Convocation Day has become a signature event for FPT University, celebrating its students and alumni while fostering a sense of community and appreciation. It is a platform for students to explore their passions, grow as individuals, and prepare to become happy global citizens in the future.
