After the appraisal period, the ASOCIO 2018 Award Council awarded FPT University in the category of ICT Education. The award ceremony will be solemnly held during the ASOCIO Digital Masters Summit 2018 (Tokyo, Japan) on November 7-8, 2018.
ASOCIO (Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization) has been established for more than 30 years. This year, the ASOCIO Awards 2018 were presented in four categories, including the Outstanding ICT Company Award, Outstanding User Organisation Award, Digital Government Award, and ICT Education Award.
Currently, ASOCIO has more than 20 participating nations, including particularly developed ICT nations like the US, Japan, Korea, etc., with over 10,000 enterprises and annual revenue of over 350 billion USD. The ASOCIO ICT Summit is organized annually to promote knowledge sharing, industrial development, and technology orientations among organizations in member nations and regions.
FPT University is the second educational institution in Vietnam to receive the ASOCIO award. The first was the Institute of Information and Communication Technology – University of Science and Technology (Hanoi). Pioneering in integrating technology into education, FPT University is the choice of many young people in the field of IT training. Accordingly, IT students can not only acquire new technical knowledge but also encounter businesses early through the On-the-Job Training semester and gain experience through the Personal Development programs, equipped with foreign languages (English and Japanese). The invitation from Mr. DAVID WONG NAN FAY – President of ASOCIOPreviously, in August, ASOCIO, together with Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), held the ASOCIO Smart City Summit 2018 with the theme of Creating Smarter and Securer Cities by Digital Solutions in Vietnam.
The conference’s purpose was to exchange ideas, plans, and experiences related to the development of smart cities. It also aimed to gather managers’ and technology experts’ perspectives to develop management, planning, and smart city development strategies and solutions based on new technological platforms such as IoT, Big Data, AI, AR, etc.
Previously, FPT University won the 10th consecutive Sao Khue Award for being a pioneer in the IT training industry. FPT University was one of the first educational institutions to integrate advanced educational technology into teachings, such as project-based learning, constructivism, and online learning. FPT University has always placed a strong emphasis on an industry-relevant training model that connects education to practice and research through the application of state-of-art technologies.
FPT also marked many important milestones in the field of digital transformation, such as launching the artificial intelligence platform FPT.AI, successfully testing self-driving cars, and becoming a leading partner of some of the biggest digital platform providers in the world, including AWS, Simens, GE, Microsoft, and SAP. FPT’s digital transformation services are currently provided to more than 210 customers globally.
Sao Khue Award is an award organized by VINASA since 2003. This award honors excellent and prestige IT products and services in Vietnam.
