FPT University organized the “November Appreciation” program, bringing together nearly 1,000 teachers from more than 150 high schools across the city.
In celebration of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20, the event took place on November 17 at the Army Theater. The program featured the presence of Dr. Nguyen Khac Thanh, President of FPT University.
With the theme of the subsidy era, “November Appreciation” transported guests back to the nostalgic days of ration coupons. Through performances such as Vovinam martial arts accompanied by music and traditional instrument showcases, FPT University aimed to preserve and promote the nation’s cherished cultural values. These activities reflect the university’s commitment to fostering national spirit.
A highlight of the event was the musical drama “Tales of a Subsidy-Era Street”, performed by artists from the Youth Theater. The production offered teachers a relaxing experience while evoking beautiful memories of a bygone era, portraying an old Hanoi with its narrow streets and sincere people. Through each song and dance, the audience relived the joys and sorrows of the subsidy period.
At the program’s conclusion, Nguyen Hong Hanh, Vice Principal of Hoang Van Thu High School, shared her sentiments, recalling her own experiences during the subsidy era. “Although my time during that period was brief, it was enough to bring back memories of lining up for vegetables, meat, and rice,” she said.
“I was deeply impressed by the play ‘Tales of a Subsidy-Era Street.’ It beautifully portrayed the love between two young individuals and, more importantly, the warmth of family bonds and neighborly affection. The play concluded on such a poignant and fulfilling note,” she added.
The “November Appreciation” program was more than just an event—it served as a testament to FPT University’s respect and recognition for the teaching profession. The institution is committed to supporting educators on their journey to shaping a brighter future for the next generation.
