Inspired by her love for Muay Thai, Thailand’s traditional martial art, Pham Le Mai Chi, a Multimedia Communication student from FPT University (K17), has taken her passion beyond personal interest by organizing nationwide Muay Thai competitions and tournaments. This journey has opened doors to remarkable international experiences throughout her four years at FPT University.
From a Star in FPT University Events…
Pham Le Mai Chi is no stranger to the FPT University student community, where she has played key roles in various events, from hosting to organizing. Her impressive portfolio includes:
- MC for the opening ceremony of the Coc Vuong 2023 competition,
- MC for the Luckydraw at the Innovate Vietnam 2023 Innovation Day,
- MC for multiple student workshops at FPT University,
- Member of the Media Team for The Face FPTU 2023,
- Internal Communication Collaborator at FPT Telecom.
Her journey with Muay Thai began when she joined FMUC – FPTU Muay Club, where she discovered a deep passion for the art and developed a keen interest in Thai culture and people. With her youthful energy, creativity, and drive, Mai Chi aspired to bring Muay Thai closer to Vietnam’s younger generation.
“As a Communication major, I’ve always wanted to spread positive values and meaningful messages to the community. Muay Thai, my greatest passion, is something I want to introduce to today’s youth,” Mai Chi shared sincerely about her motivation.
…To Leading the International Muay Thai Training Week
To Mai Chi, Muay Thai is more than just a physically demanding martial art—it is a profound passion of her youth. Determined to challenge herself, she embarked on organizing national competitions and tournaments, earning impressive achievements along the way:
- Vice President of FMUC – FPTU Muay Club,
- Event Manager of the 2023 International Boran Muay Thai Training Week,
- MC for the FPT Open Student Muay Thai Championship 2023.
Mai Chi’s commitment extended to securing sponsorships, including a direct collaboration with the Thai Embassy. Sharing her experience, she recounted:
“The first time I sought sponsorships, I even approached the Thai Embassy directly.”
As the Event Manager for the 2023 International Boran Muay Thai Training Week, Mai Chi had the honor of collaborating with Morakot Janemathukorn, the former Chargé d’Affaires of the Thai Embassy, as well as welcoming the Lanna Fighting Club from Thailand and world Muay Thai champions to train in Vietnam.
Though organizing such a significant event was nerve-wracking, Mai Chi and her team spent a month preparing, demonstrating resilience and determination to secure funding. Their efforts paid off, culminating in a highly successful four-day training program with 50 participants, including physical education instructors, coaches, and students from Hanoi, under the guidance of Muay Thai champions from Thailand.
“With support from the Thai Embassy, we delivered a thoroughly successful event, leaving everyone inspired,” Mai Chi recalled, her eyes sparkling with pride.
A Journey of Passion and Growth
At FPT University, Mai Chi and her peers embody a spirit of passion, hands-on experience, and real-world application. Her journey with Muay Thai has not only shaped her personal growth but also equipped her with the skills and enthusiasm to thrive in more demanding and professional environments.
Best wishes to Mai Chi as she continues her vibrant journey of bringing Muay Thai closer to Vietnam’s youth, achieving even greater milestones along the way!
